The record company loses out.. You know what, that would be a change for the best... Real music would make a stand again, less pop more innovation musically. Fuck the music industry- bunch of robbing bastards! I use Vuze for my music 👍

Go out and buy the albums yourself rather than ripping off the artists.
U don't think they make more the 1bill like eminen or 50cet make more then 100mill a year I don't think a song will hert -
So much anger here. I think they may feel some actual guilt knowing that not every artist is rich, and some will never make it because of their thievery. Maybe they are a bit frustrated knowing they could be sued for tens of thousands of dollars and automatically lose the suit. Their computer will be confiscated, their Internet account cancelled, community service... Ahhhh.... I hope they get it all.

I know there not rich, do you think record companies focus on general good bands? Or do you think they put most of there effort into people like Justin bieber ect..? I for one think they should be abolished in favour of pro music promoters for individual genres. Simon Cowel can keep the crap!So much anger here. Anyone who uses the "Jay Z and Eminems have plenty of money so this won't hurt them" is lying to themselves. Stealing is stealing. That'd be like stealing a video game out of Wal Mart and saying that they're a zillion dollar company and they don't need it. I've watched my local entertainment stores shrink their cd departments down to about a quarter of it's original size in the last year because no one pays for their music anymore. And though the Jay Z's and Eminem's have plenty of money, the smaller up and coming artists are having a harder time making it big when they are getting their music pirated.

I've worked in the industry for last 15 years. I know because it's my job to know and I've seen my royalties fucked by illegal downloads. It pisses me off to find my tracks all over share sites, torrents and Russian mp3 sites. It's stealing period. Now go buy some music!Buster Nobelli wrote:
How could anyone possibly know that. Rhetorical I understand but dumb just the same95% of ALL music downloaded is illegal. This is killing the music industry. The majority of indie labels fold due to illegals- if you listen to it, pay for it. I don't steal your shit because I want it do I?

Did I just fart? :P
No, I thought everyone used to dub stuff to cassette for their friends before the net and burning existed. It was time consuming but it was the only way!
I'm sure there was enough people doing it world wide to affect a record labels sales figures.
R.I.P Napster

I generally use beemp3 or mediafire. Both usually reliable...mediafire is also great for full albums

What about YouTube to mp3.com

thepiratebay.org
Not that I do any of these activities 😉

Nowadays, all pirating sites require you to look at 1000 ads or pay for their services. Napster was one of the only ACTUALLY FREE websites. Napster not only offered free music, they also spread the word about new bands. Many artists succeeded because of Napster. They shut it down. And they still haven't shut down these music torrent that have porn ads and steal money.

There's actually an app to get free music in the app store. It was free when I got it... It's called free music download. I think. Use mp3skull.com. Most of my music on my iPod is from the app.

I actually like to support my favourite artists! -
Go to your local library check out some cd's and transfer them onto iTunes and might as well get a book while your thrre

What about the argument that illegally downloaded music gets exposure for smaller artist and indie artist that may never get a cd brought or a song downloaded on iTunes. More people can hear there music not everyone wants to buy a unheard of artist If they like a song they buy the album it works both ways. Some take it too far but really rich get richer!

It sounds nice in theory, but ive been in bands most of my life and know ALOT of activly touring bands on pretty good labels. Guess what... Without t shirt and merch sales, there is no money. The internet DESTROYED the music industry. The more you steal, the less youll get out of your favorite bands. Fuck the big time mtv assholes. Indie bands get ripped constantly and they also suffer the most. What about the argument that illegally downloaded music gets exposure for smaller artist and indie artist that may never get a cd brought or a song downloaded on iTunes.
