Protecting your Turf Wars Account
Forums › General Discussion › Protecting your Turf Wars Account-
Recently some players have complained of others accessing their accounts without their permission.
Here's the deal: No one can access your Turf Wars account unless they can get your device's UDID, or if they learn or can guess your password.
Protect your Turf Wars login info as you would any other password – keep it private and don't tell anyone what it is.
How to prevent other people from accessing your account: - Don't give your password or UDID out to anyone.
- Don't use a common or easily-guessable password, and avoid using the same name/password on other websites.
- Don't use UDID spoofing programs if your device is jailbroken. Not only can this get you banned from Turf Wars, it makes it easier for someone else to guess your UDID.
- If you use the Turf Wars website, make sure you are on the domain turfwarsapp.com. If you aren't, DO NOT enter your login info or provide any other information. -
What to do if you suspect someone else is accessing your account: - Contact support immediately – they'll lock your account and investigate further.
- Don't tell anyone about it – this increases your profile and makes it easier for your situation to be taken advantage of. -
Thanks.

I looked it up too yesterday with all the talk about it. Just google it Blind.

How does TW have a password? (other than to log into the forums from a computer)
-
There are NO legitimate uses for UDID spoofing. It's only udes for shady purposes. That alone should be enough of a red flag to not do it.
People who write shady apps tend to be shady themselves. If you down;load shady apps or apps designed to circumvent the purchase process, you are just asking for trouble.

Hmmm...does this mean there's a possibility of the owners of this game doing what Storm8 did to it's users?
Also...is it REALLY impossible for someone to get your UDID info even if you don't have any UDID related apps?

Nothing's impossible, but have you ever looked at your UDID #? They certainly aren't going to get it by guessing.Hmmm...does this mean there's a possibility of the owners of this game doing what Storm8 did to it's users?

Considering the number of combinations there are, yes it is that hard. If you had a 3 number combination that could only be composed of the numbers 1, 2, or 3, there are 27 different possibilities. Now take a 32 number combination where each number can be composed of how many possibilities? If it's 35 than you multiply 35 to the 32 power.32 digits are not that hard believe it or not.

Who would give out their password anyways?
-
It's not like people brag about this game

You don't necessarily have to give it out, but people can be less than intelligent and just plain lazy when it comes to passwords.Who would give out their password anyways?
Easy to remember...obvious....those are bad. And people may share passwords...couples, BF/GF...friends.
Don't use you bday, your bf/gf bday as a password. Don't use your pet's name...your favorite teeny bopper pop star...
Use a MINIMUM of 8 characters, and mix it up with numbers and letters, both upper and lower case.

A 32 digit number would have 10,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 combinations.
Good luck with that guess.

Apple could sell 100 billion devices 100 billion times over and still not even use one tenth of 1% of the number combinations available, so randomly entering UDIDs won't get you anywhere. You literally have over a million times better shot at winning the lottery than you do guessing a udid.
Which leads to the conclusion that UDIDs are being harvested somehow to use for these spoofing programs.
Which is why you should ONLY d/l apps from trusted and signed sources.

Still looking at it The wrong way I see.
