What are pros and cons to jailbreak? And is it easy to do? How does iTunes go with a jb device?

iTunes is fine with jbd iPods and even transfers installious apps to your library.but these apps can't be synced to an unjbd iPod.but unfortunately I can't jb my new iPod yet as I don't want tethered jb.hot to wait for untethered for 4.2.1
