wonder how many at&t subs will switch over.. rumor has it verizon will bring back unlimited data plans too

I read a report a while back that said 23% of AT&T iPhone customers surveyed would switch to Verizon. That is a pretty good amount of people.

Only issue is they aren't releasing the hotly anticipated 4G version! It's just a standard iPhone 4!

Exactly!! I would wait until summer when apple releases the next gsm iPhone. Hopefully they'll release a new CDMA version at the same time. Although that would really piss the people that rushed out to buy it now

Dam really? I just went to the verizon store yesterday because I need a new phone and the girl said verizon isn't selling the iPhone yet AND she didn't see anything on the website that showed it was coming soon. Was this just announced today or was this girl an idiot?

I am currently grandfathered into the old "unlimited data plan". If verizon went unlimited too I'd consider switching over. I was much happier with verizon as a hole over at&t.

My contract has just been renewed unfortunately. Great thing is, I'm still under the old contract policy. I still prefer Verizon service though, so when the contract is up, I'll be moving back to Verizon.

Has anyone actually used over 2Gbs of data in a month on their phone? Don't you switch to wifi? On my iPad with it connected non stop I only hit 1.8Gbs

Ditto, but if your phone is jailbroken and have a iPhone 4 using face time with My3G used with normal day to day things, will go over. Im stuck with AT&T forever just so I never have to pay for that 2gig cap.

I think it all depends on where you are. I think AT&T has better customer service, and where I live, network service is very good. It never drops. That plus I'm grandfathered on unlimited data... I see no reason I would switch.

Data-wise, AT&T has been very reliable, and faster than Sprint 4G in my side-by-side testing at my office. (curiosly, Clear 4G Wimax, supposedly the same network as Sprint 4G, beat the crap out of the Sprint 4G android. Phones must be throttled.). My 3G is only moderately faster than Verizon's network here in the DC area, in my experience. Next summer, I wouldn't be suprised to see iPhone 5 with the new AT&T 4G, whatever that's going to be. Saw the ad last week.

Cool that verizonwill have it now too but I am sticking with AT&T. For me their service is great. Never had an issue. Still trying to decide if I am gonna get the iPhone 5 or the motorola atrix that was announced at ces. Been using an android phone for a while now. Guess it depends on what features the new iPhone has. I really want a 4" screen minimum.

CDMA uses a different configuration of antenna compared to LTE, so technically, given there is a slight design change to the antenna verizon customers shouldn't get reception issues. Let's wait and see. CDMA also does not support simultaneous voice data so 3G would be useless basically.
