Hello I'm thinking about doing an open university course. With uni fees going through the roof, it may be the only way for me to get a degree.
Anyone out there done this? How did you find it? Any thoughts or feelings would be great.

Online classes are not so good. They could be but most of the time the investment is not there. I went to college. I have taken many online classes as well. It helps if the class has an active instructor, the website allows for discussion, and video conferences are also a bonus. Also, hopefully the online material is well organized instead of just thrown together. Many online classes I have taken have been a mess. Ask around and find an open university that is well designed and well run. It helps if there is an admin to talk to if the instructor is subpar.

I've heard good things about the Open university. However it's always better to actually go to a uni, so try to do whatever you can to be able to do that.
Also out of interest, what would you study? -
I've heard good things about OU too. My mate is doing psychology and is doing several OU courses, but she is also doing a private college course which gives her the voluntary work experience points she needs and teaches 1 on 1. Uni is always a good foundation to build on but depends on the field.

Hard work. Takes 7 years to do a degree if you are working at the same time.

I dunno bout open university course, but I done a home learning course but half way through my provider went bust lost all my money (glad I'd paid in installments and not taken a bank loan of 6k as suggested) so I was left with a hell of alot of computer technician knowledge and no certificate to prove it, so make sure whoever u go with is not facing financial hardship at the time!
