I'm not being unpatriotic or anything.. But why argue about where you live? 90% of people don't fit the generalised stereotype for either country. Apart from perhaps a local accent which yet again rarely fits the stereotype.
A country doesn't make a person. Everyone is different and why argue over where you are from? It's just a piece of land where you live...

Not many folk really think about where they are from unless someone says they're country is better. Its that competitive streak that everyone has.... everyone apart from hippies. Damn hippies!

Most people inside are patriotic, the reason is usually that everything they have is in the country they live in. So naturally people don't want to think they live in a crappy country, or somewhere else is better.
