Well having just used an ipod for the entire time its worth it imo to pay a slightly bigger bill to get tw at more places

$20 to tether? Isn't it ten for AT&T tethering? Or Jb and do it for free on iPhone. Is 2gs something different? I thought the droid did this free of charge.

not verizon. they charge you. and I meant 2 gigs. it's limited

Get an unlocked android phone. Nexus one, or unlocked Dell streak = free tethering. Love my Dell streak.

Think it may be too late. Plus it's an lg vortex. It was what I could afford without contract. Couldn't find rooting for that device. Oh well. Don't mind paying.

JB and MiFi work great except in some places the ipad gps location won't work. And skyhook won't add your device as a location. But all in all an app you should have. Much cheaper than AT&T tether for $30 or so extra a month

If you have a 3G I pad you just have to turn on the 3G in settings and it will get your location even without actually activating the data. I use MiFi on my iPhone 4 and have a 3G iPad but don't activate the data on the iPad any more. The a-gps on the iPad works without a data subscription though which is nice.
