I was playing cod on the xbox and it weirdly feel off it's little shelf, the actual console is fine. But I heard a loud crunching noise and when I took the game out it had weird barely visible scratches around the outside and now won't work. Has this happened to anyone else and have you been able to fix it?

I looked it up on google and I keep seeing things about toothpaste being able to fix it, has anyone tried this?

That's ring burn. It's broke dude :/ that's what the crunching noise was. It is what happens when you move the xbox with a game in it

Sounds busted to me, buy it pre owned, then swap the CDs and take the broken one back say it don't work, dunno if it will work but if it does u get a free replacement :)

If you do use toothpaste it can help it but if you dont put enough or too much it won't do anything and you needthe kind with baking soda

put the disc in the oven at 230c for 20 mins,unplug the xbox and climb to a high overlook,leave box and check on disc,call xbox support,and explain it's the third machine,end conversation,check oven,climb up,and throw

Normally I wouldn't support this kind of thing. But really though, it's a write off for the store in the case of used games. And it would work.

Well, all I've got ATM is gel toothpaste, so I'll buy some normal tomorow. If that doesn't work I'll try what you said pyro, and if they reject it I'll try messrine's idea.

Take it to a gamestop(if it's local) and they can resurface it for cheap..like $3-$5(usd)

U can't fix scratches except for a resurface cuz it destroys the data next time try not to let the console move while it's in and there's a disk in
