Yeah my hp laptop is dead. Completely dead. I boot it up and it comes up with a thing saying you unexpectedly powered off your computer. Then I select start windows normally. Comes up with the usual loading bar (I'm on xp btw). After that, black screen.....no curser no underscore blinking, just black screen. I did accidently unplug my laptop last night while booting down (maybe that's the issue). I guess my laptop will be in the media center for awhile. Looks like the only option is to reinstall windows. (good thing I save everything on flash drives). I just hope I can get it back before Christmas.

Well I do. This laptop has been a headache from the start. Unfortunatly, my school makes us rent and use them. For 4 years.

I hope..... Thats the thing. I'm a half day Thursday and then I'm off for 10 days. Im bringing it first thing Monday morning. Last week of school before break= loads and loads of work. Boy this will be fun 😓.

Hp/compaq with amd processors run to hot and you run into a few problems. HD,board,lag.. After a few years and tons of money maybe 3-4k I dunno why but I kept buying compaq. I bought a Sony with a intel process' and I can see clearly now what a real computer is!

Btw the black screen of death just happen to my toshiba laptop I couldn't figgure it out so I bought it into a shop they said the mother board went. (amd also)

Hey Iggy. Did you see or hear about the news article that pertained to the schools activating the cameras on the laptops that were school issued? This school in particular were using the cameras remotely to spy on the students. It's been a while ago and do not remember the school or location any longer.... Might want to put some tape over the camera lens.

Haha I remember reading about that awhile ago. Fortunatly for me, (or Unfortunatly?) there isn't a built in webcam. However the people who got there laptops later got the new version with core i5's and a webcam.

Oh and I got my laptop fixed. They had to wipe the hard drive.
