Hang them over a clothesline by their tied together tails.
If that doesn't cheer you up, nothing will.

Part of my problem. No matter what you do, no matter who you are, where you live, every aspect of life is pointless because eventually everyone ends up with the same exact fate, death, and you'll be rememberd for a while by your family and freinds, but your memory will fade more and more with each generation and then you will have never existed.Life is short. It's best to have fun with it. Or go with the solgan If it's not fun why do it.
u, my dear, have a case of existential angst.
time to start reading existential philosophers, and you'll find you are not at all alone in your struggles to find meaning and purpose.
keep talking with others about these thoughts and exploring them.
hugs!

Johnny meant doing things for others. It is a satisfying feeling. Keep your head up, kid. Life can be difficult at your age. It gets better. Write down ten things about your life that you like and read the list every day. That should help you out some. Smile more. Be nice to others even when u dont feel like it.Johnny O wrote:

Every day do something that gets you another step closer to where you want to be in

by the way, cracking a smile has actually been proved to make you happy.

Or best way to feel better is to pass your negative energy onto another. Negative x's a negative is a positive, pass a nasty attitude to someone and get your kicks watching them realize someone just shit in their cornflakes. (sorry this week my character is a bitter badass, digitally schizophrenic as we prefer to be called) think I had a few bad turf, few more bad turf should nutralize the effects, my theory in action!!

Ya know, a lot of people who seem "relentlessly upbeat and positive" are just putting on a show for the world while they cry on the inside.

Actually alot of it's for show, people always wonder how I can be so happy and upbeat sometimes but in reality I suffer from depression, it's alot easier to smile than answer questions :) And meds lots and lots of meds!

A big fat cheese joint, paper in my pocket and a good woman oh and my lil boy always makes me smile :)

You can't be American without being on antidepressants.

Sorry I couldn't read through all these but you have to remember YOU control your emotions, nobody else.. So why let yourself get down? Your going to be happy again at some point just skip to the point where your past whatevers happened. I know it might not seem that easy but the more you practice at it the easier it is. For example, I got cheated on and then she spread shit about me causin me to loose two of my closest friends. I was upset for a week maybe two then realised it's pointless being upset. She hurt me. Why do I have to let her? I then slowly started feeling better and in time everything fit together my friends came back and apologised, I found a girl who is even more amazing and now I'm so greatful that my ex did what she did... You just gotta concentrate on the small things the things that life will surprise you with!

I think what's said above has some good points but the I think the answer is more simple I myself have dealt with some depression here and there. I'm doing well these days. Death is fate we all know will come and like you said we will be remembered for a time by friends and family and it fade to some point. That does not mean we don't matter to those that care that's why we are here is to help each other along the way being remember through time is over rated. Simple answer is selfless acts tend to make us feel good focus on other people problems and what you can do to help and your own will fade. Not as helpful as I'd like be but it stuck me sorry for bad spelling and poor grammar hope tomorrow you find a reason to smile

Sleep. Seriously. You may be able to function on less, but everyone needs between 7-9 hours or else you start accumulating sleep debt. Eventually your body will start shutting things down, like emotions and appetite, to conserve energy. That's one theory to explain what causes depression. It's helping me.

Also, a variety of emotions is one of the strongest evidences of God imho. We don't have the same emotions day to day or person to person, which is what macroevolution should be pushing us to if it were correct. Not trying to start science/religion debate because to each his own, but the Bible shows God have a variety of emotions and saying we are created in his image.
