Hey I started out yesterday and saw that my mobs had shanks, it's a nice start, then we go to hand guns, then ak 47.
I was thinking maybe the next one would be another kind of rifle maybe a sub machine gun

No we go straight to a minigun 🤣

Best in slot that you can buy in market are as follows
Weapon(s): Lapua rifle and Tommy guns. If income is low though just stick with one lapua per mob member and then when income is higher throw in one tommy gun per mob also as it has higher attack and the lapuas will be used for defense.
Melee: steel-toed shoes(how is this considered melee i have no fucking idea lol)
Armor: body armor

True best in slot, but only available through loot are as follows
Weapon: Bren gun(only available during events through special mission)
Melee: machete
Armor: kevlar lined suits
Also the loot weapons have 0 upkeep cost

Machetes and Suits are looted through Crack a Bank Safe and Port Heist missions(not a drop through Burglary or Take Out a Rival I believe). Outside of the Bren guns the AR 15s are the best and can also be looted from those two missions. Fyi everyone refers to crack a bank safe as CABS and is overall the best for looting any item in game, but some are actually better if going for certain items. For example, cannolis drop higher from burglary and take out a rival, while hench seem to drop higher from port heist than cabs

A melee is a chaotic, noisy, and confused fight or struggle involving multiple people at close range.

I thought about how you could kick them to death after posting and based on that definition it would be melee. I always just saw it synonymously with hand to hand(knife, swords too), but hand to hand is just a form of melee. Learning lesson of the day🍎🤓
