Small Upgrades Could Make a Big Difference
Forums › General Discussion › Small Upgrades Could Make a Big Difference-
I think most of us who have been playing Turf Wars for a while can see that activity is declining, and some players are leaving because the game hasn’t received enough meaningful upgrades or improvements.
I’m not asking for a complete overhaul of the game. A few small quality-of-life upgrades could go a long way toward bringing activity back and keeping players interested.
Some things that could help:
New features or challenges to give players something to work toward. Improvements to existing gameplay to make daily activity more rewarding. Updates to tournaments, capping, and competition to keep things fresh.
Turf Wars still has a dedicated player base, and there are people who clearly enjoy the game and want it to succeed. We don’t need everything changed—we just need to see some movement. Please consider giving the game some attention and making a few upgrades.
Most of us aren’t asking for perfection. We’re asking for a reason to keep playing. -
Lack of mob is a huge reason why most new players and returning players don't stick around. I think if there were some sort of weekly or monthly challenges that rewarded normal mob it could be a big help. Examples of challenges could be win fights(all amounts would depend on if weekly or monthly), run missions, planting turf, capturing turf, leave x amount of comments. Could award mob for each challenge and then maybe throw in a completion bonus of cannolis, turf loot, or even some turf designs would be cool. Have some for free and then maybe some with better rewards for like $5 a month.
-
Also could scale the amount of mob rewarded based on mob you have. For example if win 1k fights was a challenge someone under 10k could get 50 and then cap it at 10 mob for players above 100k or 80k
What I put in the suggestions forum last month👆

If you invite a active mob code it should add to your mob count that way new players can get big mob
-
Nick could put a player/mob cap on families to discourage extremely large families, and encourage some diversity and competition.
Limit over limit players to a percentage of their actual limit, like 5,000%.
If these mechanics are not addressed, they will continue their stranglehold on the game.

Yes as someone that benefits from the low mob growth, i think the game needs to add temps that auto accept or some way to grow artificial mob because that’s the crux of it the issueLack of mob is a huge reason why most new players and returning players don't stick around. add new turf upgrades and types, add new weapons with strong stats but enormous upkeep, so many ideas
Turfs that can be planted on non plantable areas, for example. You get it as loot from missions, and it allows you to put up a turf on an unplantable spot, but alerts all turf owners within x miles -
Imagine how the game would balance around weapons that cost 7500 each instead of 750, people would need money again

Sheesh yea. Someone with 100k mob would need to make 750 million to afford that for just one weapon type. A certain amount of codes that auto accept each day or week would be nice and wouldn't be unfair to old players since they could also punch them. I don’t agree with making all codes auto accept however bc I would just go through historic in 2-3 months and be the size of someone who's been punching for over 10 yearsImagine how the game would balance around weapons that cost 7500 each instead of 750, people would need money again

750 million an hour

Either way growth is needed to make something feel worth playing. Also the challenge idea could help Nick bc if it was run missions or fights it would promote players to spend money for more skill points to get the rewards. <Meant to post last night with other messages, but forgot after 5 minutes haha

I kinda like the idea of increasing Bren guns and kevlar jacket costs because that is sort of the "end game" weapon and armor of choice. A way to cash-sink in game seems like a good way to keep things competitive in the sense that it will shake up how people play a bit. Less stacking up trillions, and more focus on income and maintaining a families high mob counts as a counter balance to large families/mobs simply just existing with little upkeep. Maintaining local economies in smaller areas will become more important. People might guard inactives more in said areas.Imagine how the game would balance around weapons that cost 7500 each instead of 750, people would need money again
The mob ideas are worth looking into. Some have been playing for a year, and have roughly 1k mob. Theres NO way they themselves can hold their own against larger players who at current rates could stop punching for years and still be #1

The ability to ooc our own turf is what we all need.
That would be a game changer imo.
Then unlimited caps.

I think it’s complete waste for somebody to have to accept a mob invite. There are so many inactive codes that people could punch but don’t get accepted. If we could do away with that or at least have a time limit instead of them being deleted they just get automatically added to your mob that would be amazing could punch codes all day and then actually get some return.

Or have the temp codes sent to everyone every day. Then we can accept them. After you get to so many mob, you then become a receiver of those codes. Idk. I agree. I stepped away from the game for a few years and have punched codes that were put on the site in 2015. I am looking for more testers to help test out the game I’ve been working on. Lots of progress. But before move toward a beta release I want to further stress test and get feedback from testers. I’ll still continue to work on economy, level progression, and overall Improvements. Additions will still be made. But lots of the work has been done.
Reach out to me If you want to test. I will have to be selective or slowly add people. Currently have up to 6 people testing. May push toward 15.

I don’t always test my code. But when I do, I do it in production. Stay thirsty my friends.
