Good morning sexy beasts.
I have to say it’s cool to be off TW for years at a time only to return to billions in cash in my account and the turf landscape in my home city being completely different.
As a player who started in 2011 after finding TW in the App Store on the iPod touch my dad bought me for Christmas, I’ve seen many a player come and go from the leaderboards, families rise and fall, and even had a fun short stint as the Capo of my home city.
I always played pretty casually, and as a kid the idea of “owning turf” in my hometown was such a fun concept. I still remember claiming my elementary/middle school and enjoying going to school feeling like the land was “mine”.
As someone who never took the game very seriously, I didn’t dedicate much time to growing my mob by a lot, or claiming tons of turf, and rarely attempted to cap anything. My ambitions never stretched as far as the leaderboard, just to “own” areas that were personal to me (my schools, places I’ve lived, etc.).

As I make yet another return to the game this 2026, I still feel like a complete beginner. I have like 20 turfs, and I’m seeking the kind advice of veteran players who mastered the mechanics of the game!
I’d really like to learn the best tried and true ways to advance in level, grow my “turf portfolio,” grow my mob, grow turf past 86 influence, and be more involved in the community!
This thread might get lost in the depths of the forum, but hopefully this thread will be useful to other beginners that stumble upon it as we ring in the new year! Thanks everyone, and thanks in advance for any advice that’s shared!

This game won’t be on or existing when you’re finally a “pro” at it.
Don’t waste your time. Cut and run.
