Late to the party, Trump won! Whatโs our American turfers opinions? Happy, sad, indifferent? Let me know, not an American myself but would love to hear what the American guys are feeling right now.

I for one never completely trust any politician, but the love and genuine feeling I get from Trump would be very difficult to fake. I am hopeful that he will restore the economy, and put more money in our pockets due to life costs going down. I also think getting rid of DEI is a big deal bc it should never be about race, gender, or sexual orientation. Instead it should be about the best man for the job. I feel that he is also in a better place than in 2016 and the majority of republicans support Trump today as compared to then. He has already cleared up a good bit of the โswampโ and has renewed trust in the people surrounding him. I am excited to see how he lets people like RFK do the things they wish to see done. RFK and health is another thing Im super excited about. Itโs gonna be a huge wakeup call for what we eat and the medicines we use not just here but for the world

Iโd have to disagree. Trump can levy tariffs against countries that we are exporting food to us that could cause general food cost to go down. Also getting gas down will happen when he opens back up the keystone pipeline and ends this war in Ukraine which has affected gas prices. Also lowering tensions with counties in the mid east to get them to lower oil pricesแต๐กแตฃ ๐๐ฏ๐ฝ๐๐ป๐๐๐๐ฏ๐ฎโข wrote:

USA is backing israel. Oil countries donโt like that, oil probably wonโt go down for a while. The tariffs might work but thatโs not a certainty, people abroad may continue to buy the food. Plus without that approx 170 billion per year in exports you might be closer to a BOT deficit. He may not end the war in ukraine, Russia has a large nuclear stockpile and even trump will have to take into account vladimir putin escalating. Overall itโs uncertain but possible that things go down. Who knows at the end of the day?Uglyladdie wrote:

I agree with you Laddie and understand that overtime things are bound to go up, but not at the rate they did in the last 4 years. This means thingโs definitely could go down. Also I agree about oil and the israel thing, but I feel this is part of the reason that he is backing Elon so much. Maybe one day we will not be so dependent upon oil, but it will be a slow process. Also we had a deal with Saudi to back oil with the US dollar. This deal is over and a huge part of inflation from what I have been told

Also we are pouring billions into Ukraine while Sudan is in the middle of a civil war. The RSF has taken over there and is trading all the gold to the United Arab Emirates. The middle east is growing fast!

I only know about Sudan bc a friend of mineโs family is from there, and thankfully his family was rich enough to flee to Egypt. His entire family line has left, and millions are starving bc they cant access their own farmlands that the RSF took over. Nato was going to step in, but didnt after RSF told them not to. I feel that UAE money helped persuade but cant say for sure

Thereโs loads of conflicts people donโt know about. Yemen, Somalia, South Sudan is a total clusterfuck, burma/Myanmar (is there a difference?) is basically a military government. Iโm excited to see what happens. ๐ I am hopeful for a sweeping reduction in government over reach and acronym dept gutting along with removing clearances from a ton of current and ex government employees.

Iโm curious exactly how thatโs going to happen. (Because Iโm in the middle of it.) Traditionally when we want to shrink executive government, we just stop paying them, and they sort it out themselves. Then executive government becomes really ineffective at executing the laws congress orders them to implement, and then congress gives them more money. Thatโs the balance.
If they really want to drastically cut executive government, they need to clean out the vast universe of really expensive laws. Thatโs what actually creates the problem.
Then a smaller government has a shot at properly executing the vomit coming out of congress.
Soโฆ. How do we do that?
-
At the end of the day it is our choice to play the governmentโs game. As long as you continue to use their public stuff they have power over you and can hold you to their laws(Give unto Caesar what is Caesarโs). This is why you are supposed to even report money earned under the table bc you are using the USA inc.โs money to do business. Right now almost everyone does everything in the public which is why our government has such overreaching power. Also, religion is so important bc it gives you a ton of rights when it comes to things you do in private. Look at private schools for example. They fund themselves, and are able to make their own curriculums bc they are not paid for by the public which is owned by uncle Sam.

Can't wait for kamala to have count the vote and accept it as the VP of the country. She has to relive the epic loss again!!

Thanks all for commenting on this! Itโs been super insightful. Most people my age are on the left on the political spectrum so this is one of the very few times Iโve been able to see what Americans who voted for Trump in the election are looking forward towards and what they hope to see in the future.
Am I correct in thinking most people here are millennials? Thereโs a thing in the UK where the older you get the more right on the spectrum you become. Did any of you guys in America experience this? Were you more left wing when you were younger and moved towards right wing later in life?

I head the UK ties politics more to class than age. Is that true?

You are the second person Iโve spoken to who sees themselves more conservative while being a Gen Z. I try not to be in echo chambers, so I feel this is quite unique. Or maybe itโs just where I live?
Do your peers have similar political views as yourself?
-
Age and conservative views always change. When you are young, having less, knowing all and wanting much is normal. As you gain a career & start a family you focus more on long term security for family and self and are constantly pressed to meet the ever growing daily needs. Increased taxes, additional bond taxes and sharing more of what you have set aside to serve your family isnโt as attractive as it once was.

As someone who is 25 I would say it was about 80/20(liberal dominate) in 2020 and closer to 50/50 in 2024. I had maybe a third of my friends support Biden in 2020, but none for Kamala in 2024. One of my african american friends reached back out to me days before the election to tell me I was right about the dems and BLM(we stopped talking in 2020). I apologized to him for not talking to him, and explained that I was not able to speak against BLM at the time in a way that would not get me cancelled. I think by now most logical people have seen past the bs and I am proud of the people for this.
