Wikileaks is supporting human rights. Sadly being right while thoese in power are wrong is dangerous. Nation states that want to attack Wikileaks and its staff have opted to ignore human rights and truth in favour of short term goals. The fact that the US goverment is so against wikileaks is highly disapointing. The truth hurts.

what the hell are you smoking? Releasing secret documents is one thing. Doing so without redacting the names of people helping the US is murder. And guess what the taliban is going to do. They are going to hunt those people down and kill them and their family as a statement to everyone else. So how is that being supportive of human rights?Wikileaks is supporting human rights. I think sunshine is a great disinfectant and folks who think written (especially electronically recorded) data will never see the light of day are pretty foolish.
Overall, I support this stuff coming to light - the info wikileaks exposed out of Iraq was damning, confirmed rumors and revealed the civilian political leadership for the liars they were (Rumsfeld, etc).
Some may think it's good for gov to lie to you, or like, "you can't handle the truth" like in that movie but I'm a believer that Americans are adults and should know/understand what the tax $ funds. -

Huh? Do you know what was released? Do you know that it is redacted? Can you point to one person who has been "murdered" as you put it by the bad guys because of anything that wikileaks has done?ttt wrote:

For ripd- he claims he is going after big buisnesses next. He's done with countries, and believes he can more properly expose corruption in large buisnesses

I just watched the collateral murder video. It looks like 2 guys have straps over their shoulders. The rest nothing. Not a single gun in sight. If they were insurgents then as soon as the copter was near enough why wouldn't they try to run or hide? They felt comfortable enough because they had nothing. When the guy said rpg it clearly to me looks like a camera. The end of it widens like a camera lens. Were any weapons actually found? Why were no shots fired back if the guys on the ground actually had weapons?

I know kozy. Looked that way to me. Again it's easy for us to judge...we're not there in the shit. If they had a suspicion and just saw a bunch of thier buddies killed it's easy to see how thier minds may have seen something not there. They felt they couldn't chance it. I don't think that makes it okay. The video almost made
me
Physically sick. But we arn't there. -
If they had nothing to hide, why crouch down behind a corner? "To get the shot". Of course they didn't know it was for photography. You can watch it and see whatever you want to see. It was at worst a mistake. This was an active war zone. Not the safest place to move around with armed individuals not in uniform. Yes, AK47 rifles are insanely common there and not illegal, but it brings attention to themselves and makes them a threat. One quick glance of a suspected RPG warrants immediate response. That is war.

There's a reason why classified docs are kept secret, the public doesn't need to know everything going on, nations survive this way. I hope he gets capped in the back of his head walking out of jail when he is released in a month.
-
No I know being there would be way different forsure. I felt pretty sick watching the video too. And yes an rpg would warrant immediate action but from the very start I didn't see any guns at all. Just two of the guys walking had straps over their shoulders. Maybe I have to see it again and watch closer for guns but I didn't see any.

Ya the only thing I could think of for the crouching behind the wall was to see what was down the street. There's apaches in the air, maybe the photographer thought something was happening around the corner. But ya I mean shit happens. It sucksIf they had nothing to hide, why crouch down behind a corner? I know a few people feel this way based on comments. I was just wondering what do you guys think about the people who gave him this info? I don't know much about this thing just the basics everyone else does but I think that of someone will ruin the national security of a nation they should be locked up, you just can't do that. They would be a national security threat and the same as a terrorist (theoretically).
