Your opinion on UB40

I am the 1 in 10 that doesn’t like UB40.

They call themselves reggae, and anyone who is die hard on music knows they’re not real reggae. I’ve heard them being referred to as “fake” reggae music. However, they’re catchy as shit and I love them. Reminds me of home. Their song ‘Bring Me Your Cup’ puts a smile on my face.

Not into ub40 outside of red red wine but I agree with Simcoe it's def bottom barrel reggae. Still good shit though. If you wanna hear some good old school reggae try Black Uhuru. Sponji Reggae is a good one or Sensimilla

Ub40 has reggae sound but doesn't have the soul of reggae. I still like ub40 and their reggae songs are definitely reggae. I prefer Toots and the Maytals, Black Uhuru, or Buju Banton and Inner Circle if I'm looking more modern reggae. Lee Scratch Perry, Desmond Decker and Steel Pulse are solid bands if anyone's looking for artists more true to Reggae but I still wouldn't say ub40 is "fake" reggae

I like Linton Kewsi Johnson.
And some other artists.I know that UB40 and Amy Winehouse was on tour together, and a car coming towards them on the otherside of the motorway lost a wheel, it came across the median, hit the tourbus then went through the windscreen of the vehicle behind them killing the driver.
Ub40, Amy Winehouse, and others on the bus had to go to court as witnesses. 🤫 -
