Voting is a farce. The illusion of choice where both candidates are bought and paid for by corporate interests and wealthy lobbyists. Any actual change with a candidate gets no political coverage and purposely excluded from debates with insane rules. Not a real democracy 👎🏻

I agree that nobody who lives out of country should be buying our land, why does every one get mad when immigrants do something like, rent an apartment? Or hotels? I live in Seattle, lots of homeless. A good majority of them are either heavily addicted to drugs, violent, or just have various unchecked mental illnesses. Sure, there's plenty that have fallen on hard times in general but we can't pretend that booting out the immigrants is going to keep their mental health in check or get them off of drugs. I think instead of a wall we need to spend the money to actually help people, not preventing some boogeyman immigrant from coming in. It's not the homeless fault they have mental illnesses that haven't been dealt with, or drug addictions, but it's also not the immigrants fault were not taking care of our own.
-
Then again, you said UK so your immigrant problem is different than ours, with the wars going on. But still, will kicking out immigrants or sending them back to their war torn country really help anything? Will the homeless just get jobs and go to work and rent the apartments themselves since the immigrants aren't?

Borders expose the limitations of democracy. A democratic nation has to have common core values, experiences, and identity. The reason we have international borders is precisely because we can’t have other nations voting for our representatives. When immigrants flood in and gain voting rights without assimilation, it undermines our core national values, the reason we have borders. A democracy absolutely depends on filtering out people with different national identities. Wait…. What were we talking about?

Reefa, we the uk are a tiny island, I believe we have 147,000,000ish ppl here.
There are 22,000,000 in Australia. You can fit the whole world in Australia and give then an acer of land...
We are British, a Christian country. (Well we was)
We have lost our values now.
When you say immigrants paying for hotels or apartments?
Lol they dont pay a penny, we the public pay, through taxes.
I don't want my tax money spent on them, I want it spent on helping us in these hard times, put my tax money towards helping my fellow bros an sisters that are homeless, and, or suffering with mental health, drug addictions.
We don't even have a say here anymore, put the price of everything up so we can afford to house these immigrants, all off the back of our suffering.🇬🇧GIVE OUR COUNTY BACK🇬🇧

Alright, fair. If they aren't displaced by war I understand not wanting your tax money going to them. We got a bunch of refugees from when the Taliban took back control in Afghanistan, Ukraine and im sure probably Israel-palestine conflict, I've met a few from Ukraine and a couple of young girls from Afghanistan, and one young guy from Myanmar. The nicest, realest people I've met, and I'm glad my tax money could go to them and rather than some fat cat politicians pockets.

Recycling the same old same old bullshit & candidates. Morons to the left of me and jokers to the right.

Some cities and states do allow them to vote- they cannot vote in Federal elections & most local
-
This is the theoretical beauty of a democratic republic. A central federal government with some power and local government with power. It allows the flexibility for localities to make their own rules that suits them as long as it is “constitutionally supported”. Unfortunately this is circumvented by grants, initiatives and special funding by the Feds who will give or withhold money to localities based on the local govt doing what the Feds want. Since most governments are spend first and pay later, they tend to fight over each available dollar they can get their hands on

Flood the districts with illegals to grow the population in the local precincts so they can gain more delegates which leads them to a higher vote count. They are getting their wish but these illegals do NOT care about american values or working even the labor force. The Hispanic community even condemns these actions because they are only being used in this process.

Without getting into racial profiling, a lot of these are ecomonic migrants with no intent of integrating, quite the opposite- intent on imposing their third world culture here. -
Let's remember that 'illegals' are people too, y'all are dehumanizing acting as if immigrants are one entity of bad people who like to do bad stuff planted by the government. I've met illegal immigrants who were hardworking, loyal, and loved our country more than their own. Let's not forget Hitler dehumanized the Jews to his people the same way. Just because the govt or media says "let's spit on em as they walk by!" Doesn't meant it's the right thing to do or justified. Might want to look into how much your local politicians pocket yearly and ask yourself if its really all the immigrants fault the US is in a bad way. I don't have much to say on Ireland or UK since we're in a US presidential race thread.

Im aware this is off topic, look at the Republic of Georgias MP Nikolov parliamentary delegation address in Ireland, he states that no Georgian’s are asylum seekers in Ireland but economic migrants, taking advantage of our generous western benefits.
Our politicians allow them to vote too.
And yes, follow the money and you’ll find who is gaining. And no, I certainly dont tar all illegals with the one brush but Im not going to start being selective either.
