The Geat Food Debate: Thanksgiving vs Christmas
Forums › General Discussion › The Geat Food Debate: Thanksgiving vs Christmas-
I guess this is for US players, but if any international players want to compare a similar holiday with a big feast to Christmas, go right ahead.
Now we all know this is subjective because everyone's families are different, but we gotta settle the debate between which holiday has the best meal.
So, state your case, give your top dishes from your favorite holiday meal, and let's settle this. 🍗🧈🥧 -
Also, if you don't celebrate Christmas, but have a big meal during your holiday celebration around that time of year, that is also up for discussion.

Thanksgiving
There’s a turkey, pie, stuffing, and gravy. There are so many different things, Christmas you may only have a few things. -
And I didn’t list everything you can have on Thanksgiving I’m just saying there’s more variety
-
Personally never heard of a traditional Christmas dinner. It’s always been thanksgiving where they pull out the goods. Christmas is some good sweets tho in my family

They are both similar feast in my family usually involving both turkey and ham with a large number of sides.

In my experience, Thanksgiving typically has more variety and is a better meal. But Christmas has better sweets, like some of you guys said. But there are some dishes that you'll see during both holidays, like mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, rolls, etc.

Does the fried one turn out more juicy? I've also heard smoking is a great way to cook it.We have also done 2 turkeys. One in the oven and one fried. Plus a ham.

How do you roll the turkey into rolling papers? Or do you smoke it through a pipe? More satisfying to eat the turkey rather than smoke it.

Yes fried tends to be more juicy.

Christmas has turkey ergo trumps all.
Yes I could just get turkey any day of the year....
But it's not the same dammit.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone, if you have any more thoughts to share about this after you get to chow down today, then let it rip. I must admit that my guilty pleasure is the cranberry sauce that comes out of the can... so delicious.
