Thanks for all the comments, pro and con. We won’t agree, for sure. But no one is 100% right, and no one is 100% wrong. Do I think chauvin went too far? Yes, I do. He could have / should have let up
I also believe that police have a duty.
That duty in very many communities is defined by the term “To protect and to serve”
My boss at work mentioned an idea that resonated with me; he said that when police work from a standpoint of enforcement, bad shit happens. When they work to protect and serve, the outcomes are generally better.
Lots of tragic situations, none exactly the same. Applying common sense, compassion and understanding in the long run works better than tear gas, rubber bullets and such.

...Unless you are a sexual deviant or drug addict...Then DON’T do unto others. You know. Don’t give everyone you see on the street a crack pipe and a hand job.

Until you have had at least 5 years dealing and trying to detain men hooked on narcotics. Then perhaps I’ll listen to you here. But I’m going to safely assume you have never done so.I do not give a FUCK what caused the death. You do not press your knee on a person who has already yielded. He was submitted on the floor handcuffed. He will rot, you mark my very words and hold me to it. He’s going away for good.
Plus the position is called recovery position. And it’s the state police training you have issue with. Not this man. He is innocent, and due to the exaggerated charges, he will walk for sure.
As a law enforcement officer, we were taught to never rest our weight on any suspect, period. Specifically because doing do can cause death. They were right for finding him guilty.

So shooting them with tasers is better when detaining rabid meth addicts

Why don’t you just admit you’re wrong and thank this man for his service?
