Do non rock bands be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame?
-
idk.... NWA made it
And the Ramones and sex pistols
-
Umm ok yeah- Ramones and Sex Pistols are assuredly the most non rock bands that ever were 🤦🏻
-
No they should have their own stupid hall of fame like country music does.

Is this like Jethro Tull winning the Grammy for best heavy metal band?
-
I can see how run DMC, beastie boys, and public enemy are in there because they bridged the gap between hip hop and rock and made some of the most iconic hip-hop/rock mixed tracks in the 80s-90s. But as for other artists that haven't done anything to push the overall genre of rock, they shouldn't be included.

Its bullshit that it took rush as long as it did to be in the hall of fame.

You gotta play their games if you want to get it. Rush was never about bowing to corporate overlords. Its bullshit that it took rush as long as it did to be in the hall of fame.

DMC, Sly and the Family, Parliment have as much to do with with Rock n Roll as Buddy Holly, little Richard and The Rolling Stones. There are countless bands who changed the course of music and were not commercial powerhouses- which is what the HOF should be. Taylor Swift and Justine Bieber shouldn’t be allowed in the building- even with a paid admission

Jon Bovi and def leopard, although mega successful, were pop -formulated pop rockhair bands that IMO don’t belong & yes I’ve seen them a few times.
-
I disagree somewhat. Jon nah. But the leopard. I think they have a valid spot.
-
Id say.. and this hurts to say, that rock of ages is more infamous than tom sawyer.
-
If Tom Sawyer is what comes to mind when you think of Rush, you don't know Rush.

No hero in your tragedy
No daring in your escape
No salutes for your surrender
Nothing noble in your fateIf you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice. He's got to make his own mistakes and learn to mend the mess he makes. He's old enough to know what's right and young enough not to choose it
He's noble enough to win the world but weak enough to lose itI get up 7 to 8, go to work at 9. Got no time for living yes, I’m working all the time

Tom sawyer isnt what i think of when i think of rush. But its what 90% of rush fans think of. Me personally. When i think of rush i think of Cygnus X-1, YYZ, Witch Hunt part 3, and Leave that thing alone. But everyone knows Tom Sawyer. Thats why i said infamous. Not wow my favorite song is tom sawyer.
-
And here comes the rebuttal from the *Rush fan* weaboo cuck “but step off. YYZ isnt even a song its a jam session” And my response is a swift STEP OFF skag. Its my list and i can put whatever the hell i want on it.
-
YYZ is absolutely a song. Just as much as Tom Sawyer and even Leave That Thing Alone. Natural Science is one of my favorites from them. And Red Barchetta. Love the old stuff here. Here Again is another great. And ALL of Caress of Steel. Vapor Trails tour was one of the Best I've ever seen.

Doing good my friend! Still going. I check in here every mow and then. Miss the hell out of the old crew.

What I meant up there was just that there is so much more to Rush than Tom Sawyer.

Totally, especially since Working Man was the song that helped them blow up in the US after getting played on cleveland radio. Thankfully I was able to see them before they hung it up.What I meant up there was just that there is so much more to Rush than Tom Sawyer.
