Medical & Recreational are both legal in my state. Decriminalizing it on a federal level will simply allow states to decide on a state by state basis whether to legalize it without fear of losing federal funding or having to deal with annoying speed bump issues. Simple example: You can buy cannabis legally in MA but only with cash or debit. Because it’s illegal federally, you can not pay by credit card because that falls under federal oversight. Debit is essentially considered the same as cash.
I find it interesting that as a country we have spent the last 20+ years doing everything we could to limit the sale & use of cigarettes and tobacco products but we are now embracing the accepted use of cannabis. Seems contraindicative but what the hell do I know. -

Federal level cant legalize because of states rights, also will be good for the economy

The major reason its illegal is because of an inefficient format to tax it. Too many people grow and sell behind closed doors. Once you realize our government acts and reacts only in the interest of money a lot of things become clear.

Like the focus on making people quit smoking. They know people are always going to smoke. Some quit. But others always will. And they know this. While people are praising the government for taxing the shit out of cigarettes as incentive to quit, the only reason out government did it is because they get fuck tons of tax revenue and everyone praises them for it. They dont give a shit. They get to tax the hell out of something that a lot of people buy and have no backlash for it.
