Gun control is the tool used by lazy politicians won't do the hard work of solving poverty in inner cities, creating a better mental health system that can actually identify and help those in need, won't make the effort of creating real reform to the legal system, and want a quick sound bite telling the world how much they 'care' by promising to outlaw all the evil guns.

Gun control to me means that if you aren’t legally allowed to own a gun you shouldn’t be able to get your hands on one. I think the most pressing issue is people buying guns from private sellers, I think if you were required to notify your local government that you sold a weapon to someone the onus would be on law enforcement to determine whether they’re legally allowed to have a gun, this would in a perfect world tie in somewhere with the healthcare system to alert law enforcement or social services when someone who has known mental -
Health problems either through being taken into protective custody by the state or in jail.
