I don’t think we had any “official” threads for these years. I don’t want the newer players to feel left out though, so post if you’ve been here 1 or 2 years. Let us know what day you started playing and what your original name was.

I started playing March 5, 2010. My name was exactly the same as it is now - I’ve never changed it.

Guess I'll go first 👋😁

Originally installed this game like 4-6 years back. I remember seeing a bunch of forum posts on how to get started properly and completely ignored all of the advice 😅 I basically planted, attacked, and capped people at random. At some point, a larger player started attacking and capping me. I started losing income and what little map coverage I had. I didn't care to face a taste of my own medicine and, because I was neither in a family nor had any in-game friends, I found the game boring so I uninstalled and quit.

Fast forward to March of 2019, a friend I was seeing wanted to go on some big roadtrip over the course of 3-4 days. I figured why not re-install TW and throw down a few turfs while I'm at it. So I made this account under the name BettyWhite I power leveled my account so I had enough money and limit for the trip. Had a great time, planted quite a few turfs, and made it to an in-game airport for the first time ever. I then joined a family and kept turfing.

I fucking hated jm for 7 years since the uk war lol then a year ago i found out hes a copper and not that bad lol. Now we get on ok but he is a tw animal i must say lol

When i was a noob i was looked after by certusd and otb lol 2 wicked players and still remembered.

I started playing December 20, 2018 with basically the same name, just a variation with the regular font. I wish I’d found the game a couple weeks sooner because I missed out on a major loot event. I was interested in a location based game but I was never into Pokémon so that was a no go. I found turf wars and I was omg this reminds me of mafia wars (which I was totally addicted to years ago). Joined mxlg stayed there until I felt confident enough to start my own family, created infinite alliance with my in game friends, merged families. Still here. I have a friend irl that know how much I love the game and they ask me what’s going on in game and have I kept in touch with that guy that quit (Dunn). It’s cool. She knows I realize there’s real people behind a gamertag.
