You bitch about the game yet you still play and you seem to be the only one not willing to put any work in and your mob count reflects thatI will TELL you why people don’t start again. It doesn’t matter if it worked before, it will NEVER work again: punching codes is just not something anyone is ever going to do. ESPECIALLY with such terrible accepting rates. But even if the acceptance rates were better, this game has been dying for a while. There are much more fun and quicker and better options for “gamers” now in 2019.
Absolutely fucking no one wants to play a game where people literally have thousands of dollars and hours of work ahead of you, and there is no possible way to reach them. Absolutely fucking no one wants to play a game where you have to do a chore DAILY to grow your mob, and NO ONE WANTS TO PLAYA GAME WITH A DEV WHO IS ABSENT.

Maybe if you spent as much time punching as you did bitching you might get somewhere
-
I stated playing in 2015 and I left due to people around me being crazy big, but I was younger then, I’m 22 now and enjoy punching, it’s a challenge to grow! I’ll never catch up to any of you, but still, I’m having a blast trying to stretch my reach

To be fair, Nick has spent some development dollars on the game recently. OpenStreet implementation, future proofing for new iOS, voiceover crash bug. It’s not like the game is running on complete autopilot.
Nick tweaks some things, perhaps just things that personally interest him?

@ duair ...all very valid points. -Also the age of players has definitely shifted. Changing the whole dynamic of game and play style. If you are looking for the big numbers to return I don't know if it's possible without enticing younger players somehow.
The under 25 yo gamers is where the money and numbers are at.
I like the game strictly for the numbers aspect. Every little achievement, turf and mob member brings so form of gain to your profile. These constant 'micro' achievements keep me motivated. -

... I disagree on the punching codes part, I think it’s carefully designed crack. Once you’ve spent and hour or two punching codes, you’ve made an investment of your time and the game is harder to leave. Especially if you’re racing a mortal enemy in mob growth.

The interesting thing about TurfWars is that it’s a near parallel experiment in capitalism and democracy. Just as the robber baron families who laid the foundations in the early 1800s pretty much run the world today, it’s the same for the earliest players of TW who’ve stuck around. We definitely have our Rockefellers, JP Morgans, Colgates, etc, here. IMHO.
I think that’s why many players are calling for some kind of massive shake up to this game whereby people can lose things through unpredictable events.
-
I don’t think there’s gonna be a shakeup. Nick isn’t going to do anything, someone else will create a similar game, the vets will die with this one, and the new game will be hot for about 2 years and then die down.

Yea daisy if you read anything about app addiction one of the things developers want is for you to ‘invest’ in the app. It’s hard for people to quit after they’ve invested a few hours into punching codes. Carefully designed crack is exactly why this app is still going 9 years later and why so many big guys keep playing.☠︎N͙ΔPΟLΣΟΠ☠︎ wrote:

Are you just using the invite code forum to punch codes? If so, you're doing it wrong. Might I suggest mob.codes? It's simple to use. The majority of invalid codes you come across are invalid because someone either typed it wrong or they changed their code. When I was avidly punching codes I would dig through threads in the ICF for new codes to add to the site. You'd be surprised how many new players' codes get passed up.Cont:
That being said, the first few levels are the hardest- and slowest to get through. It makes gameplay boring and makes people think wow this is too slow paced- I’m not getting anywhere- this is lame. It wasn’t until a few levels in I got hooked. I’ve been on a roll since like level 15. -

Maybe they should create accounts run by devs or automated. That accept your adds on a daily basis.@ grim my beef with the loser reset is that he says “absolutely no one wants to play a game where they have to do a chore daily”. It’s not true and I’m tired of hearing it. He’s just another lazy asshole.
Regarding the game, not much has changed. It is what it is. There isn’t much incentive for new people. However, I still like it and keep pretty busy with it. I don’t expect much in the way of changes, I just go with what we have. Nothing I can do about it.
Randomly placement in the world. Neutral so don’t join wars but maybe retaliate if necessary.
It would add codes and turf to the map.
Also maybe restrict capture based on level/mob so a 120k mob can’t capture a 4K mobs turf. Nor vice versa.
That would eliminate some reasons I left with micro mobs joining vs and obliterating you with no chance to retaliat -
I think that even talking about a change is ridiculous when there’s still ads working for less than half of the playing population.
There will be a new game. And it will be better.
-
I got a 170 min in three days
-
It would be nice if you punched a code it automatically accepted it. Where as I’ve punched about 1k codes this week and only got 170 adds

They can never fix this game to make it what it used to be and retain new players. Anything they change that would attract new people would piss off the vets and those that spent a fortune to get where they are now. They fucked up a long time ago and chose a path that will end the game sooner than what it could have been. 🤷🏼♂️
-
Im ready to drop a few grand on a new game 🤑
-
I wonder if Nick laughs at these threads as he sits with one of the longest running games on the App Store with no giant corporation with shareholders to please behind him.

Also, World Peace, you’ll never get that return again unless you punch 4 times as much.

Simple make it so you punch codes u gain mob get rid of the accept button you still have to work to gain mob but once the codes punched u get the mob easy for newer players to catch up.

1. auto-accept invite codes for "henchmen" - number of auto-accept codes could be limited based on current mob size to prevent bigger players from taking advantage of the system
2. get rid of the micro-mob issue
3. make mob members to slowly die off for inactive playersresult:
1. new players can still build a decent mob if they put in the time.
2. casual players can still cap inactives and take over areas
3. increased opportunities in the game would encourage new players to stay active and spend money -
Damn commies
