Name one thing you believe your government micromanages that they shouldn’t. For instance a liquor license in some areas can reach $14,000. Although tabbaco is legal you need a license to resale . Making moonshine. Etc

Taxes period. We should be able to select where our tax money goes when we file. A certain % goes to fundamentals like schools and infrastructure, and the rest we decide.

Gov't taxes and regulations aren't all about making more money off you. Although that's a benefit, a lot of taxes items are to curb certain behaviors. i. e. 10cent plastic bags in CA. The tax goes to clean up the environment but the real reason is to get people to start reusing bags and cut down the trash.
We don't own this earth, we are borrowing it from our kids. -
Use more/pay more systems make sure that the gross polluters, or over users, pay more into the regulation than non users. I think that's fair.

Never said they were. I just think, as Roman alluded to, we misuse much of our tax money. How are we the wealthiest nation in the world but have a mediocre educational system? (That’s hypothetical.) I just think in the spirit of democracy, we should be able to choose where “X” percent of out tax dollars go: education, social welfare, military, corporate tax breaks, whatever people want.

You can always donate money to causes you believe in, and the donation can become a tax deduction. (Yes, I am aware that the new tax "cuts" are now limiting this).

The fact that California has to PAY for their grocery bags 😂😂 Jesus Christ I’m glad I got out when I did

I do donate time, but donating our personal money is much different, and adds up to far less, than say if we could select 40% of our tax money’s direction. If we ALL donated $10 apiece to out state school system, it would obviously be impactful, but that also obviously will never happen.

I think theres ways to avoid or at least minimize some of those taxes. Befriending a tax attorney or good accountant might be wise.
