They are "Lying" to make controversy and draw attention to their military strength. Just some flexing for other countries to see.

And to stike fear into the hearts of it's own citizens to justify military spending.

Justify military spending? You are at war if you didn't spend money you'd be losing.
-
Honestly I think we would be still winning if we didn't bring and make new tanks I mean still fund reasuch but don't over do it
-
Umm no. If you guys hadn't brought tanks invading Iraq would have been impossible with only bradleys.
-
Tanks don't win wars. ICBMs do.
-
No I
Mean now all we need is humers and the disdain bult tanks the iraqs had could of been easily destroyed by heli or airplanes -
Engrish.
ICBMs don't win wars. Nuclear warheads do.

-
It was originally in pursuit of saddam, but then the Iraqi government wasn't in any condition to keep the peace, so we stuck behind for that.. And to diminish the Taliban presence, I think.

We know where Bin laden is. We just can't kill him. It'd cause such an uproar that even NATO can't control it, and our ties with the Saudi Arabian Royal Families could possibly be severed. There's actually Been numerous times during the bush and Clinton administration where special forces could've took a shot at bin laden right there.

Anyone remember TWA flight 800? My dad was talkin to a guy who worked for the airforce just after that happened and the guy said that the air force regulary uses commercial planes as lock on targets and that he had no doubt that someone acidently hit the button.
If you don't know about that flight... It was a passenger plane which blew up over the Atlantic shortly after leaving NY. There were witneses who saw what looked like a missle hit the plane. They never came to a conclusion.

Wow they do??
