Gas day origins?

I'm just wondering... Where did the name "gas day" come from? It seems like such an odd name for a day that has to do with capping in safezones...

That clears things up a bit... But I'm still confused... If johnnyO decides when the day is, why is it named after gasface? As in how do JohnnyO and gasface relate? And why chose such a random ceremony (johnnyO getting his hair cut) to initiate gas day?
