Cartography - Anyone Have Any Knowledge/Experience?

I’m a big fan of marking places that I’ve been or that are important to me, which is a very big contributing factor as to why I got this game in the first place. I’m not sure if I’m terrified of forgetting the places that I like, or if I’m just a crazy dude who likes maps, but I have a lot of different types of maps on my walls or in my office - some even custom made.
I was just curious if anyone was brought to this game for a similar reason. I wish there was a physical map that I could enjoy having on display, yet at the same time, can pull up very specific spots in detail that I’ve traveled to. Not a big fan of looking at a phone screen. For now i guess I’m sticking to my world map by Colorprint with little pins marking my memories. LMK

Google photos, geocoder and a GPS tracker.
I take vacation trips out of state with the wife and kids and always love taking pictures. I just hated looking at a picture and not know where it was.
If this is not what you were asking, I'm sorry.....
Also, it is nice to mark turf locations. But my small mob doesn't let memory turfs last for very long.

I used to be really bad at taking photos. Meaning, I’d forget to bring the camera out or not wanting to take my eyes off of what was around me. Google photos is actually pretty cool with the locations marker.Google photos, geocoder and a GPS tracker.

You can lie about your adventures in KML on Google Maps, and nobody will cap your markers.
That’s a hike I did last year. Go ahead. Cap them.

If you like maps, look into using Waze, you can get involved in editing maps for them (volunteer work, not paid) - I did it for a little while. Huge community of editors.
