I don’t think it’s Nick’s fault for the way it is. Generally speaking....back in the day “the community” didn’t really make new people feel welcomed.

Ha. Really? There’s really basic metirics. Average new players per month. Average player hours per month. Net new player 30 and 90 day retention. Average player dollars per month. Etc etc. TW peaked in 2012-13 and has been in decline since. Some spikes here and there. For the past two years though, huge declines on all.
Nick hit it on TW early. Did well. Then made some big mistakes in game play rules and game dynamics and revenue drivers (mob size over turf influence for fight power, airports, vendetta vs clan, etc.)
The ship has sailed.
The current financial optics don’t support ads. The TW value is diving.
Game’s over. Just a question of how long until the bottom line costs exceed income and then lights out.

With its currents state id give it a year, tops. -
Any realistic idea how much it cost to keep the game online?

Hard to judge, would need to know how much it costed for hin to fully startup the app.Any realistic idea how much it cost to keep the game online?
For example, lets say nick dropped $100k for the startup. He would need to pay about $30k in yearly maintenance to keep it running.
Roughly $3k a month. (If my business class in college was accurate this should be somewhat correct). But since we dont know his startup cost its hard to tell. Id say $5k a month if i had to guess.

What’s realistic numbers for that though?? Him developing the app and putting it on the store... how much monthly does it cost him for the services or the database and hosting? I honestly figured much lower than 30k per month. And much lower for initial development than 100k. But I don’t know. How much would he sell the game for? -

3 years ago? Probably a few million to someone who wouldve had a better vison. Now? less than 500k i think. With the current player retention rate the buyer would need to make some changesQuote
