Looking for a boxing club
Forums › General Discussion › Looking for a boxing club-
Aight, so i know this is a long shot, but I've been wanting to get into amateur boxing for quite some time now. Does anyone know of any good gyms in illinois? Seeing as this is my first stab at it i really want to find somewhere that i can really push myself and the coaches show a genuine interest in my progress.
Thanks

I knew of this great gym in Philadelphia, “Mighty Mick’s Boxing”. Trained a world class boxer once who came from nothing — straight off the street — and turned into world champ...
Unfortunately, the main trainer, Michael Goldmill passed away and the place went downhill after that.

i bet if you google "boxing clubs near me" or simply drive around you will get good info. i joined boxing when i was 12, started the day after Halloween.. met my trainer at his door step. quit a couple years later bc boxing & school athletics arent compatible and my trainer wanted to keep my weight down.

You might wanna narrow that down a little...unless you’re willig to drive all over IL to go to the gym. Btw check out Muay Thai as well, if you’re interested in learning some throws, elbows, and knees.

Anywhere near chicago and its suburbs would be great. Though the chicago south suburbs would be idealMoses G wrote:
