An update on my book series
Forums › General Discussion › An update on my book series-
I'm a few parts away from finishing book 5 and moving on to 6. A main character just died and now there's gonna be an epic battle to serve as the climax.

How long are your books roughly?

Sounds cool!

I'm in book 10 out of my 12 book series.

Although why don't you condense 3 books into one? Then you have 2 solid books. 65 pages is a little flimsy man.

short books are okay. such as, a series of unfortunate events. I love lemony snicket.
-
just don't insert a bunch of drawl to fill up pages. but then again, a couple concise good books are awesome. like his dark materials. I'm sure Pullman could have turned that into 12 books but they are perfect the way they are.

Ate, can we get any more details? Synopsis maybe?

The Apparition's Amulet - In a forest in Montréal, Canada, there is a middle-aged raccoon hunter named Frank. He is walking back to his cabin when he hears a knock at the door. He opens it up and there is no one there. He then turns around and sees an old man standing there. When Frank tries to shoot him with his desert eagle, the old man doesn't even get hurt. The old man, named Habbukkuk, tells Frank that he is immortal. He tells him of an amulet located in the catacombs of the ruins of an old castle. Frank then knocks Habbukkuk out and goes to search for the amulet, known as the Apparition's Amulet.
Meanwhile, a fifteen year old boy named Malachi is flying over the city of Montréal. He has giant white wings and wears an army dog tag around his neck. He sees the castle and decides to go inside. Once in, he gets thrown out by a ghost named Zack. Malachi then flies to the top of the castle and breaks in through the ceiling.
-
In the catacombs of the castle there is a possessed suit of armor named Aries who is possessed by Obadiah, the Red Spirit. Aries wants the amulet as well, but needs to become a minotaur (his true form) first. To do that he needs to cut off the limb of a human. Aries is armed with a battle axe.
In the castle's courtyard Habbukkuk finds Frank and kicks him into the mote. Frank climbs out and follows the immortal old man into the castle.
In the top floor of the castle Malachi meets another ghost named Luke, who is a skeleton surrounded by blue fire. Luke tells Malachi that Zack is hostile, which is a lie.
Luke and Malachi meet Frank and Habbukkuk in a hallway and a fight breaks out, revealing that ghosts can solidify themselves and that Habbukkuk can breathe fire. The battle ends and everyone splits up: Malachi and Luke, Frank is by himself and Habbukkuk is by himself.
-
At a catacomb, Luke is confronted by Zack, who accuses him of the lie that he told Malachi. Luke and Zack begin to fight, but are stopped by Malachi, who decides to trust Zack. This infuriates Luke and he threatens to kill Malachi. Luke is then shot and killed by Frank, who had just arrived. Habbukkuk witnesses Luke's death and slashes Frank's arm with his sword. Aries then arrives and tells Malachi and Zack to talk to the Arsonist, a man that lives in the countryside. Aries tells them that the Arsonist knows where the Apparition's Amulet is. Frank exits the castle one way and Habbukkuk another, while Malachi and Zack search for the Arsonist.
At the Arsonist's house, Malachi and Zack meet with him and he agrees to help them. On the way back to the castle, the three run into Malachi's father, Aurium, who has solid gold wings. The Arsonist then turns out to be Aries in disguise and Aurium fights him. After Aries loses and heads back toward the castle, ahead of Malachi, Zack, and Aurium.
-
Frank returns to his cabin and runs into Habbukkuk, who burns the cabin down. Frank escapes and goes to the castle.
In the castle courtyard Frank has a frustrating time trying to get in (the drawbridge is up). He finally makes it in and stumbles into a trap: spiked walls close in on him. He then finds a trap door and falls into a wine cellar. He walks around and then is assaulted by Aries, who is trying to cut off one of his limbs so he can become a minotaur again. Frank escapes Aries's grasp and runs around the catacombs.
Malachi, Zack, and Aurium run into Habbukkuk inside the castle. They hear rumbling in the catacombs and go down to investigate. They come to a high ceilinged hallway with stained glass windows and find Frank running from Aries. Aries finally catches up with and chops his hand off. Obadiah is killed and Aries turns into a minotaur, with the Apparition's Amulet around his neck. He then flees when no one is looking.
-
Malachi flies Frank home and Frank replaces his hand with a sickle. Habbukkuk then appears and tells Frank how he burned down his cabin. Habbukkuk us revealed to have another power, stopping time, which he can only use once. Habbukkuk used his power to rebuild Frank's cabin and then they make a truce. Habbukkuk leaves and returns to his home world, the Netherrealm. Frank then falls asleep in his recliner.

Doesn't sound like something I'd be interested in. Sorry, I'm not into the fantasy/"Lord of the Rings" type books. I like mystery, sci-fi and anything with titties and blood. I heard of no titties in this book, but it seems there is blood, so good job with that. 👍

In later books there's LOTS of blood, gore, guts, etc. The first book I'll admit isn't my best. Book 7 will be awesome though.Doesn't sound like something I'd be interested in.
