Level disparity
Forums › General Discussion › Level disparity-
Is it me, or is the game nigh-on unplayable for newbies? I’m building up my level, but am finding it hard to get mob members, and other players are either so low I can’t attack or so so high I get beaten down. I attacked a high end player, and the response was that s/he capped my attacking turf, then built right next to all my nearby turfs. I know what’ll happen next, and everything will be gone but there’s literally no way of me fighting someone 100 levels higher than me with hundreds of thousands inf and thousands of mob. All this guy has to to is watch my account and take down everything i put up without breaking a sweat. Kinda feels like I’m building turf for them, and no point in me playing at all

Agreed. I don't have a solution but we need one.

There is no hope.... jus quit

Ask for some help ... the game is as much social as it is punching codes and growing mob.

You admitted you know what happens next and there is literally no way of you fighting that larger player..... then why did you attack them in the first place????? Don’t pick a fight that you admit you have no chance of winning and then cry about not being able to win it and call things unfair.
-
Everyone punching codes is mobbing at the same rate, and these large players have been doing it for years. They should not be penalized because someone new comes in the game and wants to start a fight with someone WAY out of their league. That being said... maybe you shouldn’t be able to pick a fight with players that much larger than yourself in the first place. You want a system that limits your fights to only ones that you can win??? Or maybe within a certain range above and below your current mob so it’s still a little bit of a challenge and gives you incentive to mob up and keep playing? That might work....
-
Of course... brens would be useless. Maybe not base it on mob but on your attack and defense stats instead. Not the skill points but your actual strength. Brens are still relevant so you can still attack or be attacked by players within a certain range of your skill. Keeps people from bullying you or you being a bully to smaller players and it would not apply to vendetta fights. Only one on one.

If you are bored, just for yucks, send a note to support asking, “why don’t you either fix or sell?”

Solution for what? Noobs? Advertise and get more , thats simple. Keeping them isnt a issue if there are enough new ones , some will get sucked in others will quit. Same as always. Keeping old players is also a huge issue.. most seem to admit there is a issue with the game? Yes ? Ok so lets hear some ideas and maybe someone is listening ? I enjoy the game mildly atm but not spending much or any and not playing as i did in the past.... i will start with a huge problem in my mind.
In game money needs to mean something again , it is too easy to throw down 500 turf or more and not get hurt by it. Something needs to be done to atleast slow the spamming . Maybe have it so the price ramps up the more you plant in the same capo?

(1) Go to mob.codes, sign up, and punch temp codes first. Then work on Punch sorted by date — newest first.
(2) Talk to that bigger player. Make an ally. If that doesn’t work, make an ally of someone even bigger and ask for help.
(3) Hop away and/or take the capping and rebuild. But yeah, the game was well designed but has some fatal flaws that Nick (the developer) never cared to fix. And still doesn’t care to fix. It is what it is and still provides a lot of entertainment for some players. So work on #1, 2, and 3.

But he probably didn't expect to be capped and the set up on just for a simple profile attack.

You guys don't know how to spice things up? Why don't all you Big players with nothing to do, roll into California and take on the biggest, strongest clan in the game? That would be total war, not just pussyfooting around new airports.
New players aren't going to want to join if the players that have been here for years aren't having fun. The game's mechanics allow for new players to join and needle away at big players. Teamwork makes the dream work.

Issue is getting those new players. Imo the biggest hurdle facing the game atm is the lack of player base. Nick seems to have given up on marketing. Only thing I can think is GS is so successful that he’s left TW to just tread water. You guys don't know how to spice things up? Perhaps but why attack if you know you are going to lose? Even if it’s for xp you get more by winning. There really is no reason to attack the larger player unless you have no idea what you are doing but he doesn’t seem to fit that either. He knows. Im not excusing the larger player from being a bit of a bully, but at the same time you can’t punch someone in the face and then dictate what they do to you in return. If they break your leg it’s still within their right. Should hve not punched them to begin with. But he probably didn't expect to be capped and the set up on just for a simple profile attack.

Easy fix. Make all inactive players (after 6 months) disappear from everyone’s mob. Would make everyone the same size who is actively punching, and those who spent on hench would have an advantage.
Add a little note on each players profile that shows the highest mob they had achieved at any given point.
Turf cost: still should be affected by your influence and amount of turf, but every turf planted in a 24 hr period would cost more each base
1st turf - base cost
2nd turf - x.2
3rd turf - x.4
4th - x.8
5 - x1.6If you wanna ball out in an area or you income can support your spamming habbit, have at it. But if you can’t you can be punished.
ATM, the game has ZERO strategy.
Force players to struggle and watch them work togeather to over come. Or sell your shit game Nick, take your pick.
-
Note: the inactive player (after 6 months) has drops to 1 mob
-
Note: if you made this major change, I’d say you would have to make it so players could sell loot weapons like brens for henchmen. As the game has not seen 60k active players in 5 years.
-
I have some ideas that don't penalize the vets that put in tons of hours of effort.
1. Make the price of henchmen escalate as your mob grows. If your mob size is less than 500, maybe 1 don point gets you 5 henchmen. 500 to 1000 mob, maybe 1 for 1, etc.
2. All noobs' temp codes should be made available, and shouldn't expire as quickly. This helps everyone who punches, but helps noobs more. -
3. Henchmen should be more easily looted by noobs.
4. Powerful weapons (AR 15s) should be more easily looted by noobs.
5. A new and very powerful weapon (Tank or missle) that costs $, but the cost escalates based on how much money you have. Maybe each one costs 50% of your money. So vets cannot accumulate them any faster than noobs. -

I'm not talking real money. I'm talking don points or in-game money. Just some ideas.
