What was the “Golden Age” of turf wars?
Forums › General Discussion › What was the “Golden Age” of turf wars?-
To all the veterans out there: What was the best year for TW? What was it like compared to now? (I’m just wondering, as I am a curious semi-noob.)

DBR / TWFC / The Borg / CMS / LAW / BAIC wars were the days - you gotta see that to believe it lol
-
2011-2013
You could mob up quickly as there were lots of active players who would accept invites and even add your code.
It was before airports so if you wanted to plant new turf you had to hop or drive. That meant regions mattered and there were many places to play and not see the same 50 names of jumbo mob players.
It was very active. All parts. Regions changed a lot. The forum was full, ha many would say too full, of posts. Things would move pages back in hours not weeks.
It was a fighting game. Tons of skirmishes lots of wars, very active alliances.
Many great players and big personalities.
I was a clueless noob and had a blast.

CMS and LAW days

I travel a lot so I had turf in lots of Airports before you could fly there. If you got booted it was tough to get back. I know people who hopped or drove to and from LA because they got booted. You could add 2000 mob a month. 👍🐢

Bella’s turf wars meet ups at Dave n Busters 😝

Also it would take literally a minute or two for people to comment on a thread..... it was also fun doing the ghost stories thread late at night talking to people about actual paranormal experiences and then getting too freaked out to sleep ☺️

This. I honestly wish the game would return that level of activity. It's still pretty fun now, but I remember when there would be somone new in your local area every few days or so.2011-2013

It’s sad reading this knowing I missed so much being new.

Water turfs
(Think there’s someone still with a turf out in the middle of the Atlantic, the turf references jesus walking on water too)I also think my first real exposure to the forums was during the whole anti thug life thing

Oh yeah
Pins.... hard as hell to press on a specific turf if there was others in the same spot lol -

I built a non stop hop trail that Mav capped behind as I built. We went from Canada to Mexico down i15. He was already close in spots so took about 2 months.
