I'm currently a cafe manager, in charge my own shop etc. but I am as high as I can go in this company.
I have been offered a job as assistant manager of a restaurant, that is part of a big company and has lots of prospects. Also more pay...£$The thing is I'm so loyal to my current job, they will be so upset if I leave. What should I do???!!!!
Any advice would be great

It's not dishonourable to leave ur cafe to change ur life for the better. There is no benefit In feeling tied up to something and not being open to new things cos u think u should stay with wot ur with

Apart from mobing up...I say go for the other job! Just Leave on good terms with your current employer. If you have served them well I'm sure they would be happy to let you go on to bigger things without resentment.

If u feel that u have served ur purpose with the cafe then it's time to move on, yeah i understand that u have alot of friends where u are, but they will still be ur friends when u leave, I think it's probably in ur best interest to move on, unfortuantly this is a world that revolves around money

Hmm. hard decision. I'm a restaurant manager. What motivates you? If it's money and stuff then time to move. they will understand you want to progress. Have you spoke to your current employer? Maybe they can give you more money, etc

U only live once.more money = better life= more fun.take the job

yeah. I love it! I don't do many evenings myself too. The Company I work for is more a day job. Just be careful that you don't leave your old job for the wrong reasons. Done that myself. Better prospects, more money. Hated the job. Quit within 12 months.💀Reaper🔫🌊🗻 wrote:

Hard to decide that is...

Hey Muse. Any job starts hard. It's a tough job anyway TBH working in catering. Such a buzz though when it all falls in place! It's also a really hard decision to change jobs. Why not list the positives and negatives of moving and see what looks better to you?

Look at Steve jobs speech to Stanford students on YouTube. I'd say it's better to try and fail than to never try at all. "would of, should of but didn't".

If you enjoy your company where u are at and the owners, talk to them. Find out about what growth options are within that company, where the glass ceiling is. Don't worry about a short term year pay increase by jumping ship if in a little longer term puts you in a much better position with some possible ownership or stock options at your current gig.
IF that doesn't look promising I'd move on. -
To add to that, I'd rather be a big fish in a small pond or even the only fish (I'm a business owner and I'd never want to change that) than a small fish in a big corporation. That's just me, some folks thrive in that environment. (no negs to anyone in a big co, I did it for 15 years before my own co's.)

oo oo! if you have any holiday left book it off then work the restaurant, if u dont like it, u just come back from ur 'holiday' if you do like it, send them your apologies :)
