OTB is/was an amazing soul - R.I.P.RIP OTB! I was waiting to see this thread. OTB passed away in March, very sad to see him go. When I spoke to him in February he wrote about how he thought the next day would be beautiful. I hope he enjoyed all of those days until the end. Such a great guy in game and out. Funny and talented, someone who will be missed. RIP to the one and only ‘One Thumb Bastard’ 👍

Somehow missed this. OTB gave me so much crap, but we had great conversations. He even sent me an itunes gift card once so I could buy more turf. A really exceptional person.

Thunderous, rhythmic applause. The walls shake as though to a gargantuan heartbeat, throbbing, deep. There is no echo amongst the denim tapestries lining those vertical faces, just a rumble in the warm air to be felt from tip to toe, cutting to the soul. On and on it continues, without slackening or pause - nay, it grows steadily more. Time passes and then some more.
After an age, perhaps several ages, eons indeed, a gentle breeze wafts through the crowds assembled: a cooling draft and lo, there appears suddenly a faint sadness in the hearts of all there. It grows there steadily stronger as the applause grows steadily weaker.
Silence now. The cool breeze wafts on up, gently fluttering those denim tapestries and a murmur begins from somewhere in the crowd. It grows in strength as more take up the call, then in a moment it is clear - upon a standing ovation the call, clear as crystal and strong as a mountain roots as it thunders on and on, over and over, ‘encore, encore.’
-
But there will be no encore this time for the crowd to enjoy, to love, to cherish. There will be no encore for over that enormous sound comes one louder and clearer, saying in a sad, sad voice,
‘Not today, not ever again, cherish the memories you possess for the One Thumb Bastard has left the building.’***
I have tried to write this ending several times now and I cannot find the words.
My heart is heavy now. I’m sorry I didn’t know sooner that you had left us alone in your pants, my old friend.
You take care of yourself, I guess you’ve probably been reunited with that thumb of yours by now!
