Highlights of TurfWARS
Forums › General Discussion › Highlights of TurfWARS-
So I've noticed there were a lot of wars in the past that seem very interesting. Now before these memories are lost due to everyone going inactive, why not post it here?
Let us know how it started. What were the highlights of the battles on the map? Tactics? Any drama? How many don points were spent? Anybody reset or go inactive? How long did it last? And lastly, who won? Any peace agreements?
It only takes 10% of truth to make a good story, so have at it.
Ongoing wars are welcome too!

Now the only, "War," I've ever partaken in happened several years ago so I will do my best to remember. Back in the day I started a family called strix (probably 30K mob total), mainly based in Grand Rapids, MI. We were all noobs, and definitely didn't understand how to fight very well. Eventually we began to clash with a similar sized alliance called the Happy Hitmen. Now these guys were all pretty small so I would try to capture them where I could. The heat of battle was mainly in downtown Grand Rapids and on the KGRR airport. I was capped out of the airport several times, but since I went to school there I had no issues resetting up. Quickly the HH started mobbing up and recruiting far faster then my family could, and you'd start seeing there tags all over MI. It wasn't looking good for us. Several mammoth players started getting involved, which was really annoying. With the constant capping, vendettas, and even some taxing, the small players in my family began to give up and sue for peace or go inactive.

My original alliance was rendered useless, so I began looking for a new one to save some turf. I believe we called the new one the Shadow Society (40-50K total mob). However these new guys were located in Colorado Springs. So I made the bright idea to hop there from Chicago. The HH and their allies quickly realized who I allied with and began to follow my great hop. Now low on cash, with two fronts opened I was in a tough position. One player, who I used to be able to cap, was now larger then me, and cleaning house in the Michigan front. I was on run. We created a defensive V, but it was quickly countered. Options were running out but it only got worse. My new alliance got sneak attacked in Colorado Springs. THANKFULLY I had one turf that was out of range from the attack. I quickly spammed the area, but every time I placed a turf there was a new one placed by the enemy. They began encircling my spam, attempting to cap me out. I was running very low on cash, but kept placing new turf just out of range.

This is truly riveting ... I'm rooting for you.

My MI turf were a lost cause, so I began delooting all of my turf, and deleting many in attempt to save money. Of course I could always just rebuild in MI, but my Colorado turf were my main concern. Although we were not able to capture back, we ran like hell in CS, each time they made an encircling move with hundreds of turf, we would hop out of their clutches. Eventually we couldn't take it anymore. My alliance members were being demolished, much worse then I was, and our pal chatroom became dark. With all the shit talk that went on surrendering wasn't much of on option for any of us. With about 80% of my Michigan turf destroyed I began trying hard to surrender, but it was not accepted. I resorted to lying low, and waiting it out, and after a few weeks the whole thing just ended. The Shadow Society died with our surrender haha, and pretty sure the members have gone inactive after that battle. Overall it was a good lesson learned, and I made friends with those who were capping me.

Back then my name was Mr. Smith, I still have a few remaining turf from the Colorado Springs battle. They are named, "This was Mr. Smith's" because they kept getting captured hahah.

Same thing happened to a good friend of mine Strix Anarchy. He got chased till his hop trail completly disappeared. Happy Hitman I believe was hot on the trail. I still rememebr when he was chased from Illinois deep into Wisconsin .... untill he couldn't hop no more...

I remember when I first started playing back in November 2011. I was green like most newbs back then. I Didn't quite understand the game so of course I started capping anyone smaller than me in my home town. After a few weeks, I was approached by a player named Redfox. He offered to try and teach me how to play the game. He told me it's always good to have big friends in the game.
Well, needless to say, my constant capping of anyone I could reach had drawn a lot of attention. The small players had banded together and gotten help from a couple of player slightly bigger than me. Suddenly I have 2 or 3 V's on me. Being the newb I was, I flipped out ha ha. I tapped my new friend Redfox for help. He told me how to set up a V and had me invite him and his friend named Bugsy. At that time, compared to me, Bugsy was a huge mob. I think he was up around 4 or 5 thousand mob 😱. Well, the plan worked and we easily crushed the rebellion I was facing. I felt untouchable!!
-
About a week or so later, I get a message from Redfox. He's asking me to start a V on these huge players. Couldn't tell you who they were, but I believe one of them might've been Viper. Anyway, I'm a little unsure but Redfox assures me that the guys I'm targeting are nowhere near any of my turf so there's nothing to worry about. I even ran the lists of the targets and sure enough, most of them were in the Toronto area. Apparently there was some kind of war going on there. Against my better judgement I set up the V and invited Redfox and Bugsy. I got a couple of messages soon after from my "targets" warning me to drop my V "or else". I felt like I owed these 2 guys for assisting me so I told the guys warning me to basically pound salt and went to bed for the night.
Well, let's just say, the next morning I woke up to my next lessons in TW. I had lost almost half of my turf and had well over 1000 notifications. I freaked out. I had never really been capped before and here I am being obliterated.
-
I pm'd Redfox in a panic. He kept assuring me I was fine. For the next few days I was constantly hammered by the friends of the targets in my V. I held true to my promise to Redfox that I wouldn't buckle under the pressure. My turf were constantly being flattened and/or capped. I ended up lasting through the V with a bunch of turf. It was my first real interaction with any alliance and I was on the wrong end of it.
I ended up finding out later that I was basically used by Redfox as a pawn in his fight with that alliance. Good part about all that is I learned about picking a side and sticking through it no matter what. Nobody respects a turncoat when the going gets tough. It also gave me a taste of what wars can be like in TW. Big or small, every person has a valuable role in the battles. I was hooked. I started punching codes like crazy and soon after got recruited by a player named Fallacy... I don't remember the name of that first alliance I joined with him but it was awesome being part of the gang.
-
Not long after that, I was asked if I wanted to join a new alliance called CAPO. It was kind of a secret group at first but there were a bunch of really great people in there. Most of the players in there were also members of their original alliance still too. After a while, the group got so big, it only made sense that everyone committed to just being a CAPO. I have been there for over 5 years and couldn't imagine being part of a better group!

There's Wars in this game? How's that work?

@imindazone love the history. Sticking it out until the end. I feel like most players now days are much more forgiving if you really raise the white flag. Back then it was like, "I'm not stopping until you reset." 😂

I've never met anyone from here in RL. Had opportunities but they never panned out. Part of me likes the anonymity but would still be cool to put faces to names. I reckon Stars war against Don Vito Corleone was quite impressive. Mostly because he had died a good while before and Stars still could get him off the map.
Kyrgyn and G E T CHs war of. Words on the forums and palringo have been a highlight due to how efficient they are at making their targets pissed off.

Man those Happy Hitmen were really jerks. Who the hell did they think they were? Capping such great folks.
