Must've had unrealistic expectations. As a huge Stephen king fan (I've read It probably 10 times or so) it was amazing. There were some key events and plot points missing (smoke hole scene which explains the origins of It. And the orgy scene in the sewers) but I understood why these scenes were left out. Smoke hole scene was cut for budgetary reasons. The orgy scene for obvious reasons like legalities and scarring kids for life. Everything else was good and skarsgard was amazing as Pennywise. Very intense and menacing presence.
