Any way to view an "area" zone - I'm struggling to claim

Some of the smaller villages in my area are listed in the areas list and there are capos of them, but when I try to claim in that area the location isn't accurate. I realize there must be some sort of zone coverage for each area, so wondered if there was a way to see it?
I've test planted dozens of claims (by adding new turf and looking where the location is but not actually claiming) and I've also claimed quite a few turfs in the villages, but I notice they don't appear on that areas list, but a bigger town's

There's even one area i found where half a dozen players have claimed turfs that are listed as within the area, and if i plant a turf right in the middle of them all them all it's still not within that area, but the bigger town outside of it. I've even gone all the way around a turf with about 6 of mine and they still aren't within the area of the village.

Is this just a "get over it and move on" bug?

Yeah, pretty much. Geocoders have changed over the years

If you are on an Apple device there are currently 3 different geocoders you can plant with. All three have different capos for the same spot. No way to tell till you plant.

Cap the turf that are in that preexisting area. That's about the only solution.

To answer your question though as heather said if you're on iOS try swapping geocoders. Otherwise as sauce said- cap them if you're able.
