If it passes the Senate, private employers can give paid time off instead of overtime. Thoughts??

Good topic, but I believe the bill gives the worker the choice to choose the overtime pay or comp time later on. I may be wrong, but that is how I read it. On the surface it sounds good for the worker, but I am sure a shrued boss could exploit this somehow.

If you're working in North America in an industry where you worry about overtime / time and a half, your job will be obsolete in 15 years.

I think you might need a few more conditions for that guarantee. For instance, a cop worries about overtime. How about wood chipper mechanics? I can't see that job going obsolete. When you say "industry", are you thinking of something more specific?

In what imaginary world does more heat not equal more rain from the evaporation of rising oceans, expanding rain forests, and making what is now barren tundra in Canada and Russia fertile crop land? How does a "green house" become hostile to plant life? Not to mention that warming and cooling tends to affect arctic zones more than equatorial zones? A few more degrees and the Earth will be a carboniferous paradise! If you really cared about the green planet, you would want global warming.

... not only blue collar but white collar jobs are being eliminated by AI. At this time I'm thinking about what professions I should help my kids invest in via education that is a smart bet. Wall Street stock pickers that were making a ton of cash 5 years ago are being fired.

Seems like AI development is the way to go.
