Old topic, worth discussing. Inactive codes and new players.
Forums › General Discussion › Old topic, worth discussing. Inactive codes and new players.-
I know I've had this discussion in the past and while I'm sure there were some good arguments against it, I don't remember them so I figured I'd bring up the topic of punching inactive codes.
See the thing is, I haven't played now for (I think) a bit over a year and now that I've decided to come back I see that there are more inactive players than ever. I punched the first 250 E codes the other day and got a measly 50-60 mob out of it.
I've already spent a few dollars on don points to increase my turf limit, but I don't know if it's worth continuing because as a business man and family man, I don't really have time to punch thousands of codes to get a pitiful return.
My question is this: why don't the devs set it up so that inactive codes automatically accept your invite after a certain period of time?
Obviously the current big mobs would increase exponentially, but they're already way too big for small players to beat anyway ....
-
...so why not give the little guys like myself a chance to punch codes knowing that at least they'll have a chance against their lazy little enemies after a certain period of time passes?
I'm fairly certain I hit 10k mob when I used to play, but I know for a fact that with the inactive codes that exist these days I won't be bothering to punch a great deal more. Of course, that also means that I won't be bothering to spend much/any more on don points (sorry Nick).
And to all you crybabies who will say 'but that's just not fair to all the guys who've worked hard and punched hundreds of thousands of codes!', I say ... why is it not fair? They'll finally see a greater payoff! They'll get bigger, the little guys will get bigger, the noobs/brens who arrive won't be disappointed by small returns, and those of us with a little bit of money to spend might be more inclined to spend it here - knowing we could get somewhere!
-
I will add that I know I can punch temp codes but seriously, I don't have the time to punch them on a regular basis. The way my life is set up (and I'm sure other people are in the same situation), I basically need to be able to punch a thousand codes one day, then another thousand a few weeks later when I have Te time again. I can't just pop into the office and jump on my computer every night (besides, Mrs Turfa would probably have my head if I did that).
So ... it's just a thought and I would like to know what other players think.
Welcome to the crybabies who will be arriving here soon. You guys are the best (at being the worst).
Oh, and hi TW. Nice to see you again 👍🏻

Nexx is still a nobody.
Punching temp codes now takes only 3 minutes a day.

I would def spend a lot more if every code was accepted and my mob grew because punching a lot of codes and basically no acceptances by anyone does make playing this a turn off

Jeez, it's like everyone expects me to comment on every post or something🙄

nick purges invites after they haven't been accepted after 90-days.
So all the punching I've done in the past wouldn't gain me anything because they have all been deleted.
I'd have to start all over again, even though I've punched them all (at least three times) already. That's the part that's "not fair" if you look at it from the opposite direction.
If all the invites I sent years ago were still pending, then when this went into effect, I would suddenly grow in size, that would be different. New people could grow proportionate to their effort.
The only problem is that since I've punched them all and many others have as well, every player in the game would be exactly the same size!
For many, that would ruin the game because they could no longer range people so they would end up deleting mob to get a slight range advantage again.
At the end of the day, it's all a moot point. Nothing is going to change that dramatically to the design of a seven year old game.

Ya I quit punching hard when he told us he purges all pending invites. Such nonsense, since then he's only introduced money grab advantage features lol. Wonder what he's doing for work now, probably developing a new game unlike anything weve seen before, WORLD DOMINATION, a revolutionary real time gps game(that have features that make gps irrelevant) that allows you to plant, not circles, not squares, BUT TRIANGLES! Breakthrough ideas from mfp😂

....and add more airports, for all the players that are too far away from an airport !
Seriously, i get your idea, Turfa, but i dont think its the games fault.
I dont have much time for this game myself, but that is my fault, not the games fault. Its like OBJ saying, hey, i cant catch a ball as good as others, so allow everyone to use a net.
If i have no time to punch, i cant complain that others have the time. I have to accept that and play the game in a different way or just look for another game.

Every fully upgraded turf ever planted and fully matured for 24 hours could get +1 mob. Maybe those records still exist. Call it a local turf recruit. Just a thought.

Dude, I guess it kinda did sound like I was saying that. It's not really what I meant: hat I meant was that there isn't much incentive to punch codes with low returns, but if codes were automatically accepted after a period of time then I for one would go crazy punching a bunch as often as I could spare the time.-snip-

As for temp codes somebody mentioned, yes, I would like to and probably will punch some but as I mentioned earlier, I'm limited to occasional, large lumps of time. Many temp codes would expire between my punching sessions.

Not exactly. Nick announces when he is going to purge the invites that are awaiting acceptance, not every 90 days. I have a large amount of invitees waiting for me to hit accept. This number continues to grow (single digits) each week. I haven't accepts any invites since his last purge and the only time my invites lowers in number is if/when I punch their code.
-
From a self interest point of view, this would be the best thing ever. I also have punched all the codes from 3 sites, but I'd damn sure punch them all again, get auto accepts and be 40k bigger than anyone else could ever be without henchmen.
Regardless of how well this idea would serve my self interest, it's a bad one and a moot one as it isn't going to happen.
Noobs can punch temps and get to a useful mob count in a year, spend that time adding turf limit and spreading out.

The developers need to advertise this game a hell of a lot more, then you'd get some accepted invites.

Angie, why do we call the moon, 'the moon'? It's just their name lol. Probably cos they look like little pins on the map I'd say 👍🏻

This would make punching more satisfying; but it would be a game of "who has the most henchman", with most active players having close to the same # of real people in their mob.👉😵
Side note...codes don't get purged every 90 days, anymore. They may get purged, but not that often.
I'm currently punching the historic list on mob.codes, & a lot of them are still pending...codes that I haven't punched in 9-12 months (AA-ZZ, AAA-ZZZ, 00-1400, & other series of codes I punched while away from a computer). -
Forgive me on my opinion to follow suit but how about giving away with the code punching aspect.? Yes it be unfair for the vets who punched day and day for this but .,from my perspective of never knowing of this game untill couple days ago and playing on somewhere else simar from this ,would be better to not scrap codes but use them as promos for special events towards gear and turfs and mobs etc... And placing a recruitment page. Giving it a chance to weed out inactive at same time by showing whos on. And last inactive there fore saving time from tidious code pressing for lil gain allowing more broader and active community and ,,, doin so ppl well begin to talk and like it cuz of faster mob intake and more turfers playing......again ive only played for three or four days and see that as a newcomer this is juss a turn off towards the game cause it makes it seem undeveloped.... Im sorry and apologize to all im jus a nobody cross onto this first time ever n never heard or saw a advertisement for it so its imo s

And the codes may be used more for turf henchman cash and inventory instead and on holidays giving out once a year rare or uncommon items. With the codes . sorry its a horrible idea from a nobody my apologizes to all vets that again puched say n night to be where they are
