Object of the game.

Ok there's a similar post in help but i feel it fits in here better as it's more philosophical than actual. Amd so I ask the question. What is the object of the game? The devs states object is to dominate your home city and become capo. For most of us this was done within the first day.

I set myself goals... I guess my number one aim is to have a mob large enough so that only a V can disturb it... I'm not looking for world domination or anything like that, just a few personal goals... On the top mobsters list would be nice one day...
-
To rule California :)
-
To be the first person to place turf on the moon...

I think I'll be a while off achieving mine.... And when that time comes, I guess I'll fade off into the darkness playing my little violin

For me, the object is to meet and interact with folks whom, in all likelihood, I would otherwise not come in contact with in the real world
Do I seek to vanquish my enemies and oppressors? Yes! Do I yearn to build and capture turf whenever and wherever possible? Absolutely!
For me, however, it is the people, friend and foe, who make the game compelling.

I don't have capo of my hometown. Does this mean I'm nit setting the correct goals for my self? Did I muss the objective part....

It's true with out the forums and being able to either mock or befriend people friend or foe this game would be like many others great for about a month but easily forgotten about due to repetitive boredom the personal touch of pride in caping a local area gives you a desire to play on and on finding enemys capping them and there local area for me this is the goal it has an eventual end but I'll probly die of old age before it truly accomplish it lolFor me, the object is to meet and interact with folks whom, in all likelihood, I would otherwise not come in contact with in the real world

I agree with what you guys said though. You just have to set goals. I must say though it's refreshing to play a game where it just keeps going instead of trying to get 3 stars in all lvls. You can keep setting new goals. It's also nice to see that nick is continuing to update

We both must have missed the objectives of the game

Be the first person to have turf in kazakstan

World Domination. Number one goal. Secondary goals include meeting new people, smack talking friends and foe, having philosophical discussions in the forums, caping turf, and now being the first person to drop a pin on the moon (this time for real not like that whole "moon landing" conspiracy of the late 60's in the US).

Very similar to my goals in life actually. Even the part aboot the moon eh!

I hit all my objectives. I was capo of my hometown, Brooklyn. I had 850 turfs via capture. I had spent half a year in the top tier of the leaderboards. and that's when I became godfather. I had already retired mentally before I sold my weapons. now I just make filthy turfs dedicated to 35c.
-
Hit all my objectives. Now obviously my all consuming one is to smash twfc to bits. Don't know what after that
-
Get turf round the world as a reminder of when I've been some where new. Finland, London, Bavaria and Australia are on my pin list in the next 6-12 months
-
And Greece and Spain.

Short term goals: big enough mob so people leave me alone, and hop to the next city.
Long terms goals: be the biggest player in the game, own the world, and hear the lamentations of the TW women.
Object of the game for me is to plant turfs in new areas and expand. I like visiting someplace new and planting turfs there, whether by physically being there or hoppin there. I also like trying to help out smaller players learn the game and get going.

That's why we need a constant influx of new players willing to to shoot for the top spot. If more people had a little more ambition, it would be a whole different game.
But spending caps would also need to be instituted. Put a cap on turf limit and a cap on henchmen NOT based on %age, but instead, a fixed number. All the other stats have limits. Why not these?

Exactly. Once you've acheived your goals, that's it. You win. Isn't that the point of goals?
-
Ok as real as owning CA is... I just want to fully equip with the best gear. That means getting as much turf as possible.
-
the object of the game is to have fun and to decompress.
that is always my personal reason for gaming and when it's not satisfying those needs, I find a new one.
I usually have five or six i'm playing at a time.
