Damn brown, that is genius!! With rent control you wouldn't need to pay a bugger flipper the same as some who took time to educate themselves to make 15$ a hourIf you are going to drone on about minimum wage, why not go full hog and demand universal rent control, too?
What's the difference?

That's the thing, the second amendment was created to protect ourselves from enemies both foreign and domestic( out of control government) but that will never happen eh? I would much rather have a AR-15 than a .22 if there was a domestics issue with a out of control government. Besides if these weapons are outlawed it will on affect those that obey the law, criminals will still get their hands on them.I'm not against the gun. I'm against trying to fluffy it up in order to defend it. Whether it's the best at what it does or not, it is exactly what it is.
Hunting people and animals IS mechanically different. People can shoot back, that's why fire superiority is needed. If you take your bolt action and shoot a deer but miss, it isn't going to turn around and pull out a gun and try to kill you. It just runs away. No thumbs, see?

One last thing for me to get off my chest on the assault rifle debate and I'm done. Usage also weighs on classification. For example, go into a gun store and ask if they have any sniper rifles. You'll either get educated, chuckled at or possibly turned away. I've seen it firsthand. ANY rifle immediately becomes a sniper rifle if used or intended to be used to take human life at a distance. A box cutter is a utility knife. Is not considered a weapon unless used or reasonably perceived potential of being used as a weapon such as a traffic stop. Continued.....

The practice of adopting military rifles for sporting use has been done since the 19th century in the US. However the AR and other such rifles differ from their military counterparts. Is the M1 considered an assault rifle in the modern sense? After all, it is a military rifle. The term assault rifle didn't come about for AR's and other such weapons until the 80's by the California anti-gun establishment as a tactic to push for a ban. It's confusion in wording, terminology and definition that gives power to the anti-gun movement.

I'll end this by saying that real information is out there regarding this subject. It's mixed with a bit of misinformation so study the whole and make up your own mind. Unfortunately you can't have a civilized debate with some people. I've been nothing but respectful about this and I do enjoy a good debate. Some prefer to get all up in their feelings, be an ass and belittle others with a different stance. That's cool though. Freedom of speech is awesome.

So what you are saying is, we can't have guns that work when you are being shot at?I'm not against the gun. I'm against trying to fluffy it up in order to defend it. Whether it's the best at what it does or not, it is exactly what it is.

Let's not get silly about this. Nobody is asking for semi-auto gun control. Guns are all functionally more or less the same, and equally deadly when used properly.
Banning "assault" rifles is stupid. Ban guns or don't ban guns. Banning scary looking guns does nothing.

You're an idiot. I mean that completely objectively. You quoted me. Read the first sentence of what you quoted. Here, I'll repeat for the simple-minded folk. I'M NOT AGAINST THE GUN. Trying to call it something it isn't in order to defend it is counterproductive. We need to operate from a consistent set of definitions, and we can't dispute cold hard facts. If that can't happen there is no use talking. One more time. I AM NOT AGAINST THE GUN. I'm sure you'll continue to assume. Meanwhile, I'm going back to work on my new gun cabinet.λΙΙuviøη wrote:

What has me freaking out? Socialists. People thinking they are "entitled" to $15/hour to flip burgers. People thinking gun control works against criminals when folks know damn well gun control only effects law abiding citizens. A person with ill intent will always find access to weapons should they desire. Banning "assault" weapons when technically they are already banned barring Class 3 and so on. The EVIL AR-15 is a sporting rifle not an assault rifle. Does NOT mean Assault Rifle or Automatic Rifle. It means ArmaLite Rifle after the company who originally developed it before selling the rights to Colt.
I could write a novel honestly. -
Any sane individual, especially one that really knows small arms, should know that the political targeting of "assault rifles" is bullshit. So what's with you? You are so obsessed with your phallic toys that you think AR-15 rifles are somehow special? Depress trigger. Bullet goes fast. ALL small arms perform this function.
Oooo, but it has a handle on top. Tactical advantage. Superior firepower in the shit with Charlie!
You call me the idiot? Ok.....

Again, you assume what you want. I don't think ar-15's are special. I was just discussing what was mentioned. Do I think it ACTUALLY has superior firepower and reliability? No, but those were the reasons it was chosen, so someone obviously did.Any sane individual, especially one that really knows small arms, should know that the political targeting of "assault rifles" is bullshit. I am not against guns. I have more than 1. I am not particularly excited about guns. I have less than 5. I am pretty much indifferent about them. But you first assume i hate them, and then assume i am a gun nut. So yea, I think idiot is an appropriate term.
