Ok, so I put some turf in a widely unused town in Indiana, and gained a capo title. Three weeks later I get a message from some level 21 saying he owns that area and demands that I take my turf out. 1. You have 121 influence. I have 9.8k. 2. You have 372 mob, I almost have 3k. 3. I have had that turf in that area for 2-3 weeks, and you're just now sending me a message? I keep reading through this message and he tells me if I do not take the turf out of the town he will send his men after me. I tell him that's not a good idea and basically ignore it. A few minutes later I get some attacks from two different low level mobbed members. Should I demolish this guys turf to teach him a lesson, or ignore the whole thing unless he gets someone on his side I can't beat on my own?

There's nothing wrong with demolish, as long as it's not a perpetual state of demolish. Sometimes a one time leveling is a good learning experience.
But any attacks should be answered in kind.

Happened to me too. But the noob is level 57 and I just capped him and drove him away.
