LASIK surgery 👀

Opinions? Comments? Got LASIK about 4 days ago. Going well so far! Dr said I'm 20/20 now - although things need to heal up still, with the light sensitivity and glare and such. I'm thinking things will turn out nicely. I was previously -8.5/-7.5 in my eyes, so this is a huge change!

I need that but I don't have any money

You have to stay awake during that right? That and the .01% chance it makes you go blind.

The scramble game on pal helped me read that 😉

I understand those scrambled words. One says I've heard you can't read and the other says I've heard that too. Each word is scrambled up in a random letter order.༦ℵཇ꒽꒽༏ℭ@ℵ༤ wrote:

I had it done a couple years ago but one eye didn't come out quite right. It was so close that if I had it done again the chances were that it wouldn't have been enough or been too much. I ended up getting a pair of reading glasses so I could read close up. Over all I was happy not to need glasses all the time.
-
I thought about it, I asked the doc, what is the percentage that I just go blind. He said it was less than 1/10 of 1% - I said that number was too high and walked away.

So, why do so many eye doctors wear glasses?

I had it when I was 37. Best 5 grand I ever spent. I'm now approaching 45 and starting to go long sighted, so I will need reading glasses soon. This is normal, so the younger you have it done the longer you go glasses free.
-
Had it done about 12 year ago. Lasted about 8-10 year now I'm back to square 1.
Was thinking of having it again but got told I couldn't but there's another procedure that takes your real lens away and replace it.?
Sounds a bit to dodgy -

The right eye now however is deteriorating but not at any noticeable speed. The brain corrects the disparity between eyes so you don't need to rush for a fix but it can be annoying (only) when you think about it.
Absolutely best procedure ever! -
I guy I work with had it done a year ago and he's very happy with it, he's in his 50s and don't need any glasses.

ie one might need glasses for reading at some point, whereas they do not usually require reading glasses? -
Before I got it, I could read stupidly small text.. From day 1 after it became impossible. That always annoyed me. But I was told I would need reading glasses at a time I would have naturally anyway, I'm not sure how accurate that is.
-
was told the same
that's exactly what put me off
most my age need bins for reading,
close up is currently perfect, personally I wouldn't jeopardise that.
I can find my glasses for the mornin view

Lol... Doctors have friends, even some eye docs have friends. They don't do it because they know better.
-
I asked the technician why he hadn't had his eyes done, he said it was because he had serious scarring on at least one of his eyes that wouldn't allow him to get it. The one doctor there did have LASIK tho. And the one who did my surgery, also performed my dad's LASIK 12 years ago and has done some 10,000+ of them total. So I felt I was in good hands.
-
I just got it a week ago... wore glasses for 30+ yrs... now seeing at 20/15 w/o them... and I can wear sunglasses and see more than 2 feet in front of my face... paid $2900, lifetime garauntee
