Drugs? DRUGS!!! Druuuuugsss...

How do you guys feel about drugs. I'm a bit of a libertarian in my beliefs about drugs, in that if people want to wreck their lives with meth or whatever, let them. No need to end up with cops dead or injured as a result of the drug war. Of course, have the proper programs available if they want help, but don't criminally prosecute people for drug possession. How do you guys feel?

Advil is great, but don't drink too many marijuanas. They mess with your ears.

Its not as though the illegality of the drugs stops people from getting their hands on them.

This is a logical fallacy. You could use any illegal activity in place of prohibited drug use in this argument. Its not as though the illegality of the drugs stops people from getting their hands on them.
Better to argue for a societal cost-benefit analysis of drug law enforcement to determine if the laws need to be adjusted to allow for more reasonable drug use.

Which are good which are bad. Drugs drugs drugs, ask your mom or ask your dad. Na na na na, na na, na na!!

I don't do drugs but i do like the smell of them. I especially love how cocaine smells. Its a faint smell of the chemicals combined to make the finished product. However its not really detectable at first unless its some really strong mostly uncut product. Because that is a rarity now a days you really have to bring it up close to your nose and take a really hard whiff of it to get a hint of the smell that is Cocaine. Its an acquired smell.

True say, it was also an incomplete thought: unlike murder, drugs are not all that harmful to other people, just the user. So there is no real reason for them to be illegal, other than religious and conservative people claiming that legalization is a kin to a mandatory cocaine taking class in highschool.💣KA-BOOM💣 wrote:

unlike murder, drugs are not all that harmful to other people, just the user.
In 2007, 26% of all violent crime reported in the US, the perpetrator was under the influence of alcohol or drugs. So, to say that drugs are not all that harmful to other people is not that accurate.
Now, I agree to a certain extent, if someone is in their own home, alone, do whatever the hell you want. But as soon as it effects others around you, it is no longer ok. There are too many families that suffer from this type of abuse to seem it to be ok...

Like the time I took the ferry to Shelbyville. I needed a new heel for my shoe so I decided to go to Morganville, which is what they called Shelbyville in those days. So I tied an onion to my belt, which was the style at the time. Now to take the ferry cost a nickel, and in those days, nickels had pictures of bumblebees on them. Give me five bees for a quarter you'd say. Now where were we, oh yeah. The important thing was that I had an onion on my belt, which was the style at the time. They didn't have white onions because of the war. The only thing you could get was those big yellow ones.

I said nothing about outlawing anything. I believe people should be able to do whatever they wish in their own homes. However, those who are unable to respect those around them or become abusive because of such actions should have it (whatever substance that may be) outlawed to them personally. It basically comes down to be responsible for your own actions.Should we outlaw alcohol and/or any other mind alterong drug (pharmacutical or otherwaise)???

If every drug was legal crime would half over night.
If the government for instance made Heroin accessible from your local GP or some kind of drug centre the local gangsters would stop trading. Drugs would be cleaner instead of being mixed with all sorts.
Just because H or Meth became legal people wouldn't think fuck it I'm going to try some Meth.If your in them circles of wanting to go down that route you will try them legal or not. (My opinion) so let's legalize them and try and help people ween off them.

I'm pretty sure more people would take drugs if they were legal but...that's their own choice.
If they were legal there would still be crime from people trying to steal them, get them for a cheap, sell them illegally, scam people with fake drugs etc etc
I think drug related crime being halved is a pretty bold statement really, some people are just criminals at heart and will do anything nefarious to get easy money.
Plus, I doubt legal drugs would be cheap.
Here in the UK a pack of 10 condoms can be like 12-14 pounds, imagine how much some heroin would be? Highly doubt it'd be affordable. In any case I wouldn't really care if they were legal I have no interest in drugs aside from seeing what it's like to be high on marijuanna, that sounds fun.
Could be big economy issues though, there are tons of drugs out there that you can get addicted to after trying once or twice, what happens when people are quitting jobs left and right because they're addicted? -
^ what drugs get you addicted after once or twice? The only drug I struggle to go without is alcohol. Besides maybe IV heroin and meth(? Never tried) nothing is worse than alcohol, don't know if that's because it's so easily available and acceptable or if it's because it's addictive, not really on a side, just points for thought I guess

So Steveboy would you try Meth if it came legal ?
Junkies rob for there addiction or sell there selves anything to raise the money for there habit which is probably standard £150 and upwards a day.
There's thousands of junkies in the UK and junkies don't hold down jobs so yer I'd say 70% of crime is from smack heads -

But when I say legalize drugs I don't mean like Amsterdam where you walk into a shop and get your self fixed up.
It would have to go through a GP just like methadone does.Steveboy methadone is free for junkies no charge so why would we have to charge for other drugs

Been there done that. Now a little bit of green never kilt nobody. Lol
