My 11th month old daughter has RSV, which is basically a really really bad cold/flu. She's been fighting a temperature since Sunday afternoon. Today her temp hit 102.7 for a high. She's taking formula is small doses but enough to be hydrated. But this is some scary shit for a noob parent. thanks in advance!

My middle child had rsv when she was 6 monthes. It's extremely scary. They kept her in the hospital almost a week. She made a full recovery and has better lungs than me now at 4yro.
Keep your head up and best of 🙏🏻

Thanks yall! I guess it times like these you realize that you truly are a parent and the littlest thing can scare the fuck out of you. She's sleeping now and at home. I'll update in the morning. 🙏

I wish I could offer advice that would help, but I'm neither a parent or doctor. Still sending positive thoughts y'alls way.

You're a great parent. This is scary as hell, but you have all of our prayers. Keep in touch with your pediatrician, and she'll do fine.
I remember our daughters when their temps both neared 105. It seemed like our world was shattering, but it's now barely a memory.

My son went through this and was in the hospital. Made a full recovery. Just keep doing what you are doing, and if anything gets worse or doesn't seem right, make sure to get to the hospital!
-
I could be totally wrong but I remember the doctors to not have to cold of a bath as you can put them into shock. But if the hospital told you to do that then that's great . I hope thinks turn around for you and your family .

It was a cool like warm bath not cold bath. Her spirits are up and she's wanting to play, but she isn't able to keep formula down which is the only liquid she is willing to take.
-
Update: her fever is staying low 101, she is willing to take some foods, (gerber Cheetos) and some yogurt, a few sips of formula. She is still turning away pedialite and apple juice. She did have a BM first one in 2 days. It was awful! lol

I will pray for your daughter and your family ! 🙏🏻

Thanks everyone! Mother and child are with the pediatrician now. Fever has dropped to 99.8! But oxygen levels are still low. We will be getting a machine (nebulizer I believe) run it as prescribed and go back to ped, this afternoon.

Prayers to u and your family

a child being sick is heartbreaking. i always wish i could take their place and relieve them of whatever has them down. sorry to hear yall are going through this and hope its over and she is well soon.

Update: we are all at home, she has the nebulizer with medicine. She will be on that machine every three to four hours. She was also given an antibody, because she developed an ear infection. I think we have made it over the hill as far as the worst of it. She will have to become friends with this nebulizer! Thank you to everyone for the thoughts and prayers and advice! All in all this is a good community!

prayers to you hs glad she is doing better!
-
Sympathies sent mate hope she gets better soon ai 😢😢
-
Smoke that pipe, kid! Nebulizers aren't fun, but they sure help the breathing.
