What will happen if we overpopulate?
Forums › General Discussion › What will happen if we overpopulate?-
I was just reading about inactives and capping, and it got me thinking, what would happen if someone the map got full? Would capping inactives become a good thing? Would there be a reset? Would big players just cap all they can and control the world?

What if my aunt had balls? Would she be my uncle?
-
There's so much unclaimed map space we'd never fill it up.

Nick already said in one post that he would just start adding planets. Be ready for space stations.

I say we go to the moon next.

Let's introduce a one city policy, that should help...

Close all airports and let the locals take the leftover turf
-
Turf limit would be irrelevant if the map was truly full because you could just cap to get places. There also couldn't be any new players, so once all the active players added each other to their mob, you'd have to pay to max out your mob with henchmen. I can imagine, however, that we are quite far away from anything like that. It would be interesting to see how much of world's land mass is currently covered.

If all the turf ever built still existed and were packed together so all the red space lined together it would be enough to fill Russia in its entirety plus Rhode Island. Just to give you an idea, but there are turf that are destroyed everyday.Turf limit would be irrelevant if the map was truly full because you could just cap to get places. One day we will have the moon and other planets to fill up 👍

so. we know that turf take up an unbuildable radius of around 100m. so the area covered by one turf is about 31,400 square meters or 0.0314 square kilometers. the top 50 players on the influence leaderboards have roughly 1 million turf combined. the lowest on the leaderboards is around 4,000 turf. the average number of turf per remaining player is probably 100, maybe less with the number of resets and those that didnt spend money, but lets just say 100 for convenience's sake. mickey dunn has about 120,000 mob. assuming he has 80% of all players that have ever played the game in his mob, that brings the total number of players to 150,000, lets just make it 150,050 so we dont have to deal with those fat asses on the leaderboards when calculating the remaining number of turf.
-
so besides the top players, theres a remaining 15,000,000 turf. so in total theres about 16,000,000 turf in the world, which takes up an unbuildable area of 502,400 square kilometers. the surface area of the earth is a little over 500,000,000 square kilometers, of which about 70% is water. so the total land area on earth is around 150,000,000 square kilometers. so by our assumptions, turf only take up about 0.33% of the earth's land area.

😂👏👏👏

now, some of you may be thinking, "hey dumbass, you can only plant turf on a road!" and id reply, "fuck you. but keep reading."
so according to the internet gods, there is approximately 33,493,540 kilometers worth of roads on earth. lets graciously assume all roads are buildable (probably the biggest assumption thus far). now, on a road in the middle of nowhere, it looks like you can build around 500 meters to either side of the road (a total of 1 kilometer for those that can't math). so from this, we can see that the total plantable area on earth is around 33,493,540 square kilometers which means only about 1.5% of the total plantable area on earth is currently covered.

Trying to remember when this original post and subsequent discussion was...🤔

Do you want to do my physics homework for me? Maybe math too since you're good in that aspect as well.
