A man that got falsely convicted of rape and attempted murder, spends 18 years in prison. He then gets exonerated due to DNA evidence pointing to the actual perp. He's not out long before he's accused of another murder. Any ways for those that have seen the documentary on Netflix. Guilty or not guilty? How about his nephew? What say you?

He might be guilty for the 2nd murder

Definitely not guilty of rape, only seen first episode so far

Watched the first episode last night. It was good, in a "I can't believe the shit they throw at people when they're already neck deep in it" kind of good.
With that being said, and having only seen the first show, keep in mind that it's a show/documentary. They are, of course, going to pick a side that appeals most to the sale of entertainment. If they were truly unbiased, you, the viewer, may have come to the same conclusion as the AG, that there was no wrong doing by the sheriff's office.

I actually also just watched that last night. Only www first episode. Innocent of rape. Murder idk.

That dude got railroaded!

His nephew- Brandon Dassey is an absolute textbook case of a false confession, there is nothing at all connecting him to the crimes other than his horribly coerced confession, and that was made more so to get something to indict Steven, and Dassey was collateral damage. There was a lot of clear misconduct in this case.
If I was on Steven averys jury i'd have a hard time convicting him of anything, not saying he did or didn't do it, but in my opinion he is in a terrible limbo of not being proven of actually committing the crime, but also lacking a fair amount of reasonable doubt. Such a complex case. I think the police absolutely had tunnel vision and stuck the case to him, but believe it or not that happens more often than one would think. Not sure if the improper investigation and police tunnel vision on Avery as a suspect is just bad police work or an all out malicious attempt to take Avery down. It's hard to conclude. You should watch the Paradise

Continued- you should watch the Paradise Lost series that aired on HBO, it's great. Also "murser on a Sunday morning" is an award winning documentary following the trial of a boy named Brenton Butler, who the police tried to Pima. Murder on in Florida in 2000, I believe. All great films you will like if you dig Making A Murderer.

Doesn't he get a freebie for time served?

😂. I think if he did what they said he did to the first victim "double jeopardy" might save him. Then again if it's a separate crime I doubt double jeopardy would work.Doesn't he get a freebie for time served?
