A man fell off a cliff to his death in San Diego while distracted by his cell phone.

A man fell off a cliff to his death on Christmas day while apparently distracted by his cell phone.
Bill Bender with San Diego Lifeguards at Sunset Cliffs told NBC San Diego: 'Witnesses stated seeing someone distracted by an electronic device and he just fell over the edge.
'(He) wasn't watching where he was walking, he was looking down at the device in his hands.'
He was declared dead at the scene, the television station reported

Some witnesses say he attempted to take a selflie while the sun was setting. Others that he was simply distracted by his electronic device.

So many people have died there in the past couple years trying to take selfies on the cliffs. It's a damn shame. It's my favorite place in the world.

We need to do the liberal thing, and just outright ban cliffs. And guns. And sex.

That or give them a 10 day waiting period before walking on them cliffs.

There are plenty of signs saying "Unstable cliffs -stay back" and ropes blocking you from going too far onto them, but they're just ropes. People cross them. I've crossed them. There's an area where you climb down a bit, it's totally dangerous in flip flops (which is what we wear year round), but once you're there, it's so worth it. Surfers do it daily, with their boards. You climb down, cross this storm drain, go down a little farther, and then there's a rope set up where you literally have to repel down the rest of the cliff and get to this semi-private beach. It doesn't sound like these people made it too far past the ropes, though. My best friend's cousin was actually found dead in the water a few months back.
