I've recently been wanting to read some books from this genre, yet I know Fantasy is genre that can easily be cliche, cheesy, or badly written. Love anything by Tolkien, so I was wondering if any of you guys had some suggestions! Thanks!

I've quite enjoyed Julie Kagawa recently. Not exactly epics but fantasy and fairies.
